Greatest Ever Away Day?

Bristol rovers away, last away game of the season before the playoffs against Wigan and Gillingham.
In the railway pub in hollinwood for 7:30 in the morning, coach down to Cheltenham then onto Bristol, back to Cheltenham for a night out. Coach left about 2 in the morning and back to the railway pub for around 7.
Pretty much 24 hour session.

West Brom away, 20 October 2012, West Brom one of my all-time favourite away days. Down to ten men early, then 1–0 down late on, it felt like a loss… and then Džeko goes and scores twice, including that ridiculous last-minute winner. Plus the classic Yaya/Kolo chant.

Years ago. Took my kids to their first away game. Blackburn away. The Tarnatt rocket free kick game and we could sing that we were top of the league at the end of the game. Dry rare to be able to sing that back in those days.

First time I'd seen a water canon truck in real life that at a football match, the look on a lot of faces was funny as fuck.
Yeah, I remember those looks. Like a collective WTF moment. Even the guy on the water cannon looked like he was asking himself why am I even here.

As an aside and proof of how memorable that trip was. I was in NYC when we played Wigan in the cup, the Delph sending off game. Watched the game in The Mad Hatter with the New York Blues. A lad came up to me and asked if I remembered him? In an instant I said Lokeren. I've only seen him twice in my life, once in Lokeren and once in New York. Amazing really.

Some great memories here lucky enough to witness most special mention to the Blackburn away 4-1 Always a great day out especially the Fernhurst couldn't get served in there once said to bar maid can I get my own she said OK started serving mates all pissing themselves especially as they got free beer.

Pales in comparison to some of the other games mentioned in terms of significance but an absolutely.top away day.

Probably need another thread for best aways where the game/result meant nothing in the grand scheme of things.

A couple of night games at Huddersfield and Newcastle away in the cup on a Sunday night spring to mind.

Watched that in the bar of the then favourite place in Rhodes ...I might have been pissed and dived in the pool in my City shirt scaring random kids.

Oxford away in April 1989. They were managed by Brian Horton and had Paul Simpson in their team.
We went two down and our promotion chances were looking in trouble but then we scored four in an amazing comeback.
iirc it was the first City game after Hillsborough and we sang YNWA in solidarity with the Liverpool fans.

Games I was at, in no particular order-

Sick swan
Blackburn
Stoke (Trevor Francis debut)
Bradford
Arsenal (3 1, KDB Jack Erling)
Spurs fa cup 4 3
Lokeren (for the away days not the game)
Newcastle (2 0 Yaya)
Everton (fa cup 1981), nearly shit myself after!
Leeds 2 0 many years ago on Boxing Day (at the time it was the best City away performance I’d seen - Hartford Owen Power midfield)
No York ?

Fantastic day out that, boozing with my mate all day and then the away going ballistic when the winner went in. I vaguely remember us nearly conceding right after scoring the winner and it being tense. The West Brom fans weren’t happy afterwards, got loads of stick outside the ground.

Surely it’s Blackburn 2000 though?

It says a lot about yesterday that I can’t think of many better.

As many have said, Blackburn tops the lot.

Then maybe the Munich derby (I missed the 6-1), the last time we played Blackpool when Tevez and El Mago were on fire deserves a shout out as well.

Arsenal away 2023 for me. Very lucky to get a ticket off a mate, loved every minute, the limbs when Jack scored were unmatched and we outsang their fake ultras all day. Loved it.
