Bradford 89. We nearly had our own Hillsborough, got promoted, but still had a great day.
Nope no York. I was there but you don’t have to believe me but a very dark day, somehow not as bad as Halifax 1980 ish though, and the thread is about best not worst away daysNo York ?
Oxford away in April 1989. They were managed by Brian Horton and had Paul Simpson in their team.
We went two down and our promotion chances were looking in trouble but then we scored four in an amazing comeback.
iirc it was the first City game after Hillsborough and we sang YNWA in solidarity with the Liverpool fans.
Was a top night that, apart from one lad in our car who had 2 bets, City 2 1 with KDB first goal or last goal and Jack first goal of last goal, imagine his delight when Erling made it 3 1 and he lost a grandArsenal away 2023 for me. Very lucky to get a ticket off a mate, loved every minute, the limbs when Jack scored were unmatched and we outsang their fake ultras all day. Loved it.
Yeah, that was quite some day at Bradford, all packed into little stand behind the goal where Morley eventually scored, and all on the pitch at the end ..... was a bit eerie though stood on that pich looking at that stand where that horrific fire had taken place four years earlier.Bradford 89. 92-93 season - if memory serves me correctly, the week after the 4-0 at home to Leeds.Coventry away I think we were 2 nil down at ht
Won 3 2
Can’t remember the year
I will second that. The Sunday in Istanbul, minus the nerves and tension, was absolutely memorable, quiet satisfaction, a river of Efes and an enormous mixed grill.Does the the Sunday night in Istanbul count?
Probably my best ever time

Not strictly an away game but agreed. I can be spotted stood on a barrier. The semi final against Ipswich in the early 80s at Villa Park was extremely memorable, and a great day ....

This is my favourite. I obtained Bradford membership and was in their end.
We couldn't get on because of the fence. I know a lad who ended up in the changing room with the team. They had a road block on the M62 stopping people without tickets. You did well, tickets for that match were like gold dust ..... at the final whistle City fans seemed to pour onto the pitch from all stands.
