Why not turn and kick it straight back to The Don? But then again, who gives a fuck!?!
Because we're City. The ball would have hit an invisible bobble on it's path taken a one in 115 million deflection somehow completely got past Don and there we'd be.

But come on, what if that wasn't City playing Liverpool? What if the goal was given, but no red card and next week Szoboszlai scored the winner against us?

Are you telling me that you wouldn't then be yelling that 'he shouldn't even have been playing!' ? If not you, we both know that plenty would be.
They'd be wrong.

"If the referee plays the advantage for an offence for which a caution / send off would have been issued had play been stopped, this caution / send off must be issued when the ball is next out of play, except when the denial of an obvious goal-scoring opportunity results in a goal the player is cautioned for unsporting behaviour."

FCUK VAR... Its taken all the shine that should be for Cherki for that third. Dont know if its been mentioned or noticed but I watched it again yesterday, the view from behind the goal shows him getting annoyed with himself as there's a slight miskick if you look. Anyway 3 points and ...next!

Cherkis free kick at the end.... Knowing there was only 15 seconds left, did he intentionally just hoof it in to the crowd so we could reset and avoid risk of a counter if it came off their wall or Alison saved it? Or was it just a shit shot?
Surprised we didnt play it short but then theres a risk of turn over?
Mahrez tribute.

I see all this ‘law’s of the game ‘ shite , but if they were all applied, should Haaland not have got a yellow card for the foul and also been sent off? For a second yellow…
Why would it be a yellow card?

The red card incident was first so essentially nothing happens after that or am I understanding it wrong
That would be my understanding, unless Haaland had done something reckless that might cause injury. (It's a yellow for stopping a promising attack but not for stopping a promising clearance off the line.)

Long long overdue. We've been dropping points from winning positions the last few games. Today at one of the hardest grounds to get a result we at last showed grit, fight and guts and actually won from a losing position. Let's hope this is the spark we need to kick on until the end.
Bernardo knew when he scored that we had the beating of that lot - not much celebrating - just wanted to get on with it. Players on the pitch get a sense that on the day they can seriously hurt the other side - probably a trust based thing.

No, and the reason it's not a goal either, first offence is the pull on Erling, therefore red card as he's got a clear scoring opportunity, even if he just sheperds into the goal without touching it.

Common sense however......give goal, blow whistle for end of game.

Didn’t help that a huge lump of chewing gum was wobbling about in his gob.
Pawson sounded incredibly nervous - nervous to the extent that he did not seem to want to give a decision against that side and that crowd. I've been saying refs should have to broadcast their decisions in situations like this for years. We need to hear VAR talking as well.
