The non-foul on Marmoush, which then led to both Gonzalez and Pep getting booked was fucking maddening.
It was a foul all day on Omar and Tierney let it go. Tete got away with niggling fouls all evening.
Should the hair pull have been a red. Well, it was a couple of week ago when Michael Keane did it. Although, Foden probably could have seen red for his awful challenge.
Maybe the second half was about conserving energy, and not trying convinced that's what we're doing. You can see Pep is frustrated with it. We just end up continually losing the ball and repeatedly flooding back towards our own goal (Guehi was brilliant last night during the 2nd half chaos). It all looks a bit desperate and disjointed - and next to no control. Both Pep and Bernardo have spoken about this continual second half lethargy, so there must be more to it than just conserving energy.
Marvellous first half, and hope Erl is ok and gets a bit of a breather. Phil looked brighter during the first 45 too. O'Reilly is a star. The back four (whichever combination it is) and Donna have a real togetherness and desire to repel everything. You can see what it means to them.
