Mubama is recovering from a broken leg he suffered while on loan at Stoke. Who knows what his future holds, but it almost definitely won’t be at City
Mukasa is the more highly rated of the two lads we brought in from West Ham, but younger, maybe getting mixed up?

I'm not getting mixed up. Talking about a Haaland back up.
Mubama is an out and out centre forward and nearest to Haaland in style. Of course, nowhere near Haaland standard but who is and who will be.
If its a case of having one of our younger player around the squad then he is as good as anyone to come on for Haland in the last few minutes of a game without disturbing tactics of switching around several player positions.
No one knows which of the younger players, if any, will make a breakthrough with us but it certainly looks ike there are some exciting prospects.

Not for me. I think we have enough wing options with semenyo, doku and savinho all being proper wingers and able to play both sides along with foden and cherki who can play wide if we want to invert more.
I'd look for someone who can play up front to replace haaland as needed but also be able to play just behind him too.

What about Semenyo doing a job in the striker role when we sub off Haaland. Sign another winger and then there’s no issue with trying to fit a second striker around haaland. Only 3 wingers feels a bit light to me.

if this keeps we will often play with 3 CM. I think the club doesn’t really need another offensive player - more like 1-2 CM and a RB.
 
I honestly feel like whether we win trophies this season or not next season is gonna be another headache.

we have to find a good ball player GK somewhere
Guehi is far too good to bench. Pep loves Dias and he will likely be our captain after Bernardo leaves. Gvardiol after his injury can’t be benched. So he will have to go back to LB which we have seen the best version of him. But what will happen to Ait Nouri and O Riley ? Nunes will be even more important and told to push even further up. We can get a young RB like Read that’s fine. But the backline is changed once again. With 3 of those centre backs been superstars and big money, I don’t see Khusonov getting tons of mins unless another big injury happens.

The midfield is also a potential issues. Bernardo and Kovatic leave. Likely Anderson comes in but there’s only 2 spots and I don’t think Rodri is leaving. Rodri x Anderson is already the best possible duo in the world. The third sport will be Foden or Cherki. Reinjders immediately becomes a squad role player. And OR midfielder mins get reduced further. What happens to Nico G our most important And improved player this season ? When does he play ? Rico will have no choice but to leave but he extended his contract.

The front line isn’t a problem. Marmoush will likely want to leave i think Mukasa can take his spot and we’ll false 9 role when Haaland is out, and he can play on the wings too, the club might be tempted to bring a big name but there would be no need.

Well O'Reilly has already moved to midfield and rotating Dias, Guehi, khusa and gvardiol - with the latter two able to fill in at full back - doesn't seem like it's the end of the world does it?

I’ve seen comments from pep saying we’re playing how we are at the minute due to a lack of wingers. It’s clear to see based off that that he doesn’t see Cherki and Foden as wingers. If we do intend to play with wingers next season the man just Semenyo, Savinho and Doku won’t be enough. You could argue that if we have injuries then we can fall back to the current system but I doubt pep would find that ideal. The potential issue would be that going with the 433 means it’s 8 players for 4 positions

i'd say MGW, Fermín Lopez, Thiago Almada is in similar cloth to him tho, but in different levels

they will be very expensive tho


Oulai realistically could replace Bernardo

 
Biggest priority this summer has to be getting contracts sorted. We have 5 key players coming towards the end of their deals - Rodri and Foden in 2027 and Gvardiol, Doku and Nunes in 2028. To lose any one of them at this point in our rebuild would be a huge blow.

Nunes will be 29 in 2028, they will probably wait until Summer to start negotiations
