Jim Ratcliffe - claims the UK is being “colonised”

Powell was concerned with race, I don't give a flying fuck about race.

As for multiculturalism, that wasn't even a thing in Powell's day.

Go away and think up something more original.

Yeah so exactly like I said 3 comments ago you’ve just substituted “multiculturalism” in for “multi-ethnic”. Your bringing up “white flight” betrays you over this by the way. Or did you forget you brought that racist (throughly disproven) bullshit up?

And let’s actually be honest, it’s only one culture you’re upset about being here.

Have the mods deleted your posts? I hate that.
No.

But they did delete a couple of pages of insults directed at me.

The moral gatekeepers are the ones that keep the debate on point, that is to say their point to the exclusion of all others.

I've decided to take a leaf out of your book...

Why do you hate your country so much?

Why are you so obsessed with race? Is it to do with white guilt? You seem so obsessed with race rather than class.

Oh...

Do you agree with Starmer's description of Britishness? If so explain it to me.

And as you've mentioned ethnicity, explain what ethnicity is to you?

As somebody who has lived and worked in London for 8 years now, the difference in attitude between people who are here living their lives versus people from outside London telling Londoners how they should feel is quite stark.

I don’t know if your percentages are correct or not but assuming they are, people here (generally speaking) couldn’t give less of a fuck where people are from, we just get on. This place is full of the best and brightest who come from all over the world to be here. And it doesn’t feel any less “British” being here than it did when I lived in Edinburgh or Stockport. Culture does not equal skin colour. It doesn’t even equal birthplace.

So what am I supposed to be worried about exactly? I’m the minority white person in my own house. But it seems from what you’ve said that is problematic. Somebody needs to maybe loop me in on why that should bother me. Because I’ll
Great post. I live in London and feel exactly the same.
Before Covid, my floor at work had around 70-80 people from 35 different nationalities. we actually counted one day.

My daughters go to primary school with children from all nationalities and faiths. It’s a wonderful place to live and for kids to grow up in.

In contrast, in my early 20s I brought my ex-girlfriend, who is a second-generation immigrant and non-white, to meet my parents. I grew up about 30 minutes from Manchester city centre. In the space of 30 minutes walking around my town, we were spat at and experienced two other racially motivated incidents. That was the day I realised I could never live there again.

We were together for over four years, and while living in London I didn’t experience a single derogatory comment.

Yeah, and they're wrong.

And it's not everyone, coz anyone who disagrees is either attacked or given up, so they don't post.

Why are they wrong?

Coz we've been here before, many times in my lifetime and it's never resulted in this.

Why is no one debating why this time is different? I'll tell you why, coz that would require a degree of introspection, a questioning attitude, an analysis as to why so many folk are rejecting the divide and rule, bad economy argument, but the left don't do that, they will never do that and that's why they're losing.
Unless you've got a recipe for analysing what's different, all you're saying (over and over) is that you think racists would stop being racists if only anti-racists would stop calling them racists.

Stop calling everyone who disagrees with you a racist would be a good start.

The amount of times I’ve seen posters use the word racist in this sub-forum in the past week is off the scale. I was getting race baited yesterday for giving a fair opinion on immigration in this country.

Shutting the door on immigration is not racism

Uprooting people who are citizens and blaming them for problems just because of their skin color is definitely racism

So speak carefully when you talk about stuff because people don't like losing their homes and being targeted. That includes those who trace their ancestry back 10 generations or more or just the citizenship ceremony.

Yeah they all want affordable homes for their kids near where they live ....... just not there .......nope not there either .....no not there its spoiling their view .......
And

‘No not those people, they are the wrong people, I mean my people, that’s what we need’

I think this is exactly the issue. Immigration policy gets discussed, and it immediately gets reframed as people wanting to target others or take homes, which isn’t what’s being said or what I’ve said anyway.

Shutting the door on immigration or changing policy isn’t racism. Targeting citizens or blaming people because of skin colour obviously is, and I’ve not argued for that at any point.

What town was that?

You've provided zero evidence for your claims that "multiculturalism is a lie", and there are plenty of demographic studies that disprove your theory of white flight and segregation over the last 30 years because it's just not fucking true.
Your wording ‘white flight’ reminded me of a cartoon by my favourite cartoonist Berke Breathed ( opus the penguin, bill the cat), when he was young and jobbing in Texas, fresh out of Austin University.
He drew a one panel strip, riffing off of Star Trek latest film.

This is from 1980 - reagonomics was just starting, you’d still be hard pressed to see a black nonstereotypical character on TV, if at all. Rap hadn’t broken out.

He didn’t get to do another strip for that newspaper - the evangelical whites didn’t like their bigotry laughed at

It’s been a trope for over 45 years.

It's used to silence debate, the authoritarian left uses the language of compassion, diversity and tolerance, but shows no compassion for any opinion other than their own, no tolerance of dissent and diversity in all things except questioning of orthodoxy.

Trevor Philips who attended the unite the kingdom march and wrote about what he experienced was given the cold shoulder as it veered from the orthodoxy, and he was shunned not too long ago when he pointed out that while the work place might look increasingly like the league of nations, at the end of the day all too many of us go back to our ethnic enclaves, it might have a racial element to it, but primarily it's ethnic, meaning people like them.

The left is not interested in dissenting voices, their solution to whatever is happening right now is to double down on the dogma, which consists entirely of shouting racist, but louder.

There’s no bigger snowflakes than the far right.

However Just want to point out it’s very much not MY wording, but the wording of the poster I was replying to.
