Seat Counters 25/26

Remember the Community Shield that was boycotted but was still sold out by resellers etc.

That was a very different crowd and atmosphere to what we’ll see at this final.

Good luck to any Arsenal fan who chooses to sit in a stand full of Blues who’ve been on the beer since 7AM! They’re going to be in for a shock!

But they had to have been to a match a the Etihad too to qualify for the 1pm window today. Are you saying they do that too? Maybe for 1 or 2 memberships but for 10s/100s?
they will buy and sell tickets for all of the big games using their memberships and season cards. So they will have “been” to loads of games.

I presume the resale sites secretly own many memberships and season cards to all the big clubs and have a system in place to buy them. If you're selling a £100 Wembley ticket for £350 it's a simple business model.
Thats exactly how they work - and how the club can state that it was City members and season ticket holders that sold to Gala fans for example.

I reckon a large number of high points holders at every club are ticket touts. Not fans of the clubs who tout their tickets, but organised ticket tout gangs.

Any time a club started with points systems, they will have got the memberships and been selling tickets on ever since.

Totally agree. It’s obvious really. You don’t even need high points to make profit on a season ticket with the prices these sites charge for the biggest games. I’d say it’s one of the reasons for empty seats at sell out games.

Didn't the rags recently say that they reckoned a quater of all ST holder accounts at the toilet are owned by touts?

Didn’t know that. But, while it does seem high, the prevalence of it in the game doesn’t surprise me and they are the biggest club and have the most lemmings around the country to sell on to so quite well could be true.

I reckon this is why the club brought in that Ticket compliance manager and introduced this season’s stupid rules on attendance and transferring.

We have relatively cheap season tickets and usually at least 5 or 6 huge home games and Wembley finals which would return massive profits even if the seat is unsold for lots of games.

Unlike me with my guesses and gut feels, EMB uses history, maths and statistics to make informed announcements and predictions. A key member of the team without a doubt.
I hold my hands up and say I was urging the club to allow people to buy multiple tickets straight away, which couldn't have possibly been a poorer take.

I was definitely wrong on that one, although It's definitely something they should consider if we find ourselves in an FA Cup semi final vs Cat B opponents.

I got that wrong, it was 10% to 15%.

"On average, the club says, season ticket holders return between 5,000 and 7,500 tickets per game for "repurposing". They estimate between 10% and 15% of United's 47,000 season tickets are owned by touts, who take over tickets from holders who do not want to keep them. Valid addresses are no longer required because the tickets are delivered in digital form."

All the big clubs are cancelling 1000s of tout memberships, from memory I think dippers reckoned they’d cancelled 100,000+ over last couple of years

Yes but you were the one who spotted the high demand within a few hours, compared to other games.

I said the same. I wanted them to allow scheme members the ability to buy an extra ticket for a non scheme season ticket holder or member. I don’t think we were as far wrong as we think. I think that because the club made it clear City card holders were going to get one quickly, a lot of season ticket holders (like me)held back from buying one until today so they could tale friends or family. So that massive queue at 1pm today could have contained lots of season ticket holders (if you know what I mean).

The club didn’t expect this demand, you can guarantee that. They greyed out half of the upper tier at first which they only do if they think they might not sell.

What you have to say for certain is that this has to be the model for sales in future. Get them out on sales and flying through the criteria to give people a chance to make plans. Newcastle in the carabou cup should have been like this.

Absolutely agree with this, I'm convinced we would've sold far more for that Newcastle carabao cup game had they been more proactive with the criteria.

Now that the Newcastle FA Cup game an is 8pm kick off, it'll be interesting to see how many we take, but I think the club need to take this same approach and get through the criteria quickly

Arsenal league game starts at around £320 on tout sites. Some are £500 plus and that’s not hospitality. I was at Brentford away last year and an American woman next to me with her husband had paid £500 for 2 tickets.

First guess it that they’ll give us 7000 and we would sell them all with similar sales criteria to today. Knowing City they’ll see the rush for Arsenal tickets and get too strict again. I know I was 100% going until I found out there was no return train and others will be the same I assume.
