47 | Phil Foden - 2025/26

Baby steps but he appeared to have a bit more vim and zip than recent weeks when he came on last night. Should have scored, a shame because it would have been a real confidence booster for him, but it’s coming

I for one have been a tad critical about his performances this season but was willing that shot to go in yesterday. His touch was good beforehand too and he hit the ball sweetly, you could see Haaland at his side itching for the pass too. Anyway, it was only a few minutes on the pitch but at least it was positive. Next time I really hope a goal comes along.

That’s the thing. I wasn’t even impressed at the start of the season because in games like against Palace he didn’t do shit all game and then scored and apparently he had a better game than Cherki who was the only vocal point.
The worst thing is that people still claim that he’s creative.

Enjoy watching this clip with your early morning cup of coffee kj..
A simply esquiste volleyed pass with the outside of the left boot played by a player who has " done nothing all season" whilst still managing to rack up the most yards run by a premier league player this season.
I personally, don't think I've ever seen a pass quite like it in all my days watching football.

yeah okay. Just watch 1 quaresma clip. 1 pass doesn’t say anything. I don’t get the reply with this. What is it about to tell me? He is not having a good season. You can get highlights out of any player. Any other player gets shit on for his performances this season. There’s a reason pep barely uses him but pep must be wrong too

One of the rare players that have the skills to replace Bernardo
Clearly not. Absolutely no one can. They are two players with completely different characteristics. Bernardo has the ability to control the tempo of a game and not lose the ball, whereas Phil is much more electric, less patient, but above all does not have that ability to keep possession that very few players in the world have (Vitinha, Rodri, Pedri, De Jong, Ødegaard).

Only when Bernardo leaves will people truly realise the importance and greatness of the player.

Un-used sub. You have to wonder where his WC chances lie now? I know a lot of people think he's not even close, but I do think Tuchel likes him.
