Denton and Gorton by-election - Green Party wins

Well, thank you for thinking that (a) Labour would select Andrew M-W to be a member let alone a candidate, and (b) that he would get votes.

Beyond daft. (Notwithstanding the daft appointment of Mandelson.)
Well thank you for not being aware that GDM was using an extreme to make a point and not really advocating that Nonce Andrew would actually be a candidate.

Stopped the health service strikes.
Removing 450,000 children from poverty.
Breakfast clubs for children rolling out.
Worker's rights bill.
Renter's Rights Bill.
Freeze on rail fares
Stopping water companies giving CEO bonuses while polluting our waterways.
Increasing the NMW
Raids on businesses employing undocumented workers
Increased legislation to prevent and detect benefit fraud
Increasing the number of NHS appointments
Reducing the delays in asylum hearings
Closing the hotels owned by Tories holding people awaiting their Asylum hearing.

Things they SHOULD be doing
Clamp down on Non-doms
Tax on rental income
Close loopholes in corporation tax
Close loopholes where someone can take wages to a shell company
WOW!!!!!!!

I cannot see why we're in such shit with such an impressive resume.

Have they actually made any mistakes ??

Stopped the health service strikes... are you sure?
Child poverty is as bad today as it has ever been, giving a few quid here and there does not remove children from poverty..
Renters rights Bill, speak to Rasharna Ali and Ms Rayner about housing issues
Freeze on rail fares... and student loans thresholds
Stopping water companies giving CEO' bonuses while polluting our waterways but still raising our bills
Increasing the NMW making it too expensive for employers to employ staff - refer to highest unemployment rate, increased employers NI and the highest unemployment amongst the young demographic across the whole of Europe
Workers rights bill.... for those that have work, check unemployment figures
Raids on businesses.... every one of these "achievements" can have a coach and horses driven through them.
Increasing NHS appointments by giving them and then cancelling... but fair play it does reduce the figures temporarily.
Reducing the delays in asylum hearings.... whilst not smashing the boats and seeing the numbers grow and grow and grow
Closing asylum hotels.... really? where are they all going then? Because they are certainly going somewhere at cost to the taxpayer.

But if you're happy and see that as progress then go ahead and waste your vote and throw the drowning government a brick. Good job Labour have stalwarts like Peter Mandelson, Angela Rayner Rasharma Ali, Louise Haigh and a whole plethora of others to keep this Labour Government who have zero Business experience afloat.

The big trick Reform have done is getting thick poor people to believe they are on their side, when they will be flushed out with the rubbish when they get it.

1000 more GPs
Ended train strike
Renationalising railways
Planning reform
Guaranteed homes for veterans/ Care leavers & domestic abuse survivors
Introduced legislation to smash the people smugglers
6500 more teachers
30 hours free childcare
Largest pay award in a generation for the armed forces
Took back the armed forces accommodation from private ownership

More positive legislation in 14 months than the Tories did in 14 years

Absolutely.

14 u turns but dozens of not u turns, just fulfilling manifesto promises. (But maybe they'd select a disgraced royal as a candidate.) And then say it's a cult.

Beyond daft.

Like I said. Beyond daft.

what Reform are doing has nothing to do with what Labour has(n't) done.

I'm afraid Labour have presented Reform with the widest open goal you can imagine. The other major alternative, the Tories are unelectable as are Labour. The Greens and their net zero ideology is for the birds and the Lib Dems are so wishy washy they too could not form a Government.

Simple fact is the choices are just not enticing and to re-elect two proven failures is not a realistic option... so just who can we vote for.

Reform are majoring on the major issue that is rightly or wrongly, on the electorates mind illegal crossings and boat people and....it will reap rewards, just you wait and see!

Yes and not all U turns are bad, when another complaint is they never listen.

..... if only they'd listened and established what the electorate wanted and needed before introducing the senseless policies that they've had to reverse and do major U turns on.... bad management and even worse politics. They've gone too far to be able to turn back.

Don’t be stupid, nobody is 100% right all the time, I’d rather a party that has the balls to listen and say we got this wrong, not just blunder ahead with it regardless because it suits their ideology, looking at the the tories. Anyway I don’t vote labour these days and don’t care which party someone votes for even if I disagree with them, again I can disagree strongly with a tory supporter, or a left wing Labour voter for that matter as I did often in Corbyn times, when chatting politics but still be friends with them. What I can’t tolerate are racists and bigots and find it very hard to tolerate anyone supporting a party of racists and bigots whatever other policies they have, yes I mean reform.

Very fair points.

But is this "not just blunder ahead with it regardless because it suits their ideology" exactly what Labour have just done? Ploughed ahead, not listened and then had to back track on fourteen or fifteen or even sixteen times in eighteen months.... and it ain't over yet.

You know the labour traditional core vote won't switch so the protest greenies are simply helping the fascists.
I'm labour traditional core voter, was a member 29 and campaigned on 3 elections for them.

They lost my support once in 2005 I they lost my vote as such I left tge party for a year but returned and voted labour until the last election.

I know others who were labour 20/30/40 years who have turned away due to it's ideological shift to the centre right

so it's traditional core support is changing as is the way politics works here.

Which proves his point to be fair.

I think you are atypical, the older voters don't generally change and there are a lot of them in the seat.

Labour were out of power for 14 years - they made mistakes but have corrected them.

Net Zero was the Tories and is needed whichever party comes in.

Most immigration now is due to Brexit.

Reform are the worst of the failed Tories.

Net Zero might be needed but the UK if it went totally net zero would have absolutely zero impact. Our contribution compared to the rest of th world is probably less than the rounding up figures in the carbon production column.

Illegal immigration is illegal immigration and needs to be stopped. Controlled immigration via visas may well be up dur to Brexit, but it needs to be controlled and illegal immigration stopped. Nothing to do with Brexit.

Reform are arguably the worst of the failed Tories. What a sad state of affairs that Reform, in many millions of peoples opinion are the best option available. Speaks volumes and tells us all we need to know about Labours dismal performance.

The myth of net zero being expensive. If we had enough capacity to store what we generated, at some point our energy bills would be far lower than if we drilled to find more oil and be forever linked to the price of gas.

That’d reduce domestic and business costs, lowering prices and making people far better off.

The fact Reform are bankrolled by oil companies says all you need to know.
