Fan channels

The one I can't stand is the anfield transgender. Horrid goblin sort of bloke who hates us.
I wonder just how many times he's caught the Ryanair express over to Liverpool, and actually attended a game. Apparently, normal scousers (oxymoron alert!) hate him.

Same question applies to the Forest fan masquerading as a rag; how many times has he set foot in the "theatre of the leaking roof"?

As someone who was heavily involved in the fanzine movement I agree.
However, I'd like to ask how many of these fan channels would you watch if you had to pay to watch?
Fanzines came and went. If no one was buying them (as they were shite) they folded. These fan channels earn their money by the amount of free viewers they have which in turn attracts advertising.
i personally dont watch many might nip in and out at times fanzines i never bought like podcasts i dont listen either but this bloody place Ric has a lot to answer for

but their all sharing views having a laugh even in dark day's infact made more so then and trying to make a few bob to pay for football good luck to them

A problem with Internet message boards like Bluemoon is their anonymity which allows for frauds (Man Utd fans) and trolls, whereas fan channels like Forever Blue, mcfc lads and biasmancityfan are authentic.

I watch Forever Blue to relive the pre and post-match excitement. mcfc lads and biasmancity fan have more personal content and I like the presenters. They are positive, and enthusiastic without being overly so. I also like primemutton who posts unusual food, and drink comment from his match-day. He gets semi-drunk before games, and declares himself match-fit. For some reason this makes me laugh.

My favourite character from YT channels was AFTV's Heavy D AKA the Boominator. Sadly he is no longer with us. He would end most of his comments with 'Boom'. So funny.

Sadly, they have many subscribers.

The main man on there was Claude ("IT'S TIME TO GO!!!). Him and the person of restricted growth, with the oversized headphones, had some epic, er, disagreements. He was a cantankerous old c**t, so I saw a lot of me in him. Unfortunately he also is no longer with us. AFTV now is a shadow of the channel it was back in Claude's day.

It’s modern media, I’m getting more and more into it. I want to watch content solely about City, and I get stuff solely about City when I choose to. You can pick and choose to avoid the attention seekers, the ones out for clicks at all costs. I enjoy Nobbins, LB, PrimeMutton, Big Steve, Esteemed Kompany is decent too.

Not a fan channel, but Woody Unscripted with Mike Wood and Kevin Horlock have done some excellent podcasts which I also watch on YouTube, a lot related to ex player’s addictions - Andy Morrison, Mark Kennedy, Paul Walsh, Mick McCarthy, Jim Whitley with Woody and Super Kev sharing their own experiences. A Paul Stewart one has just been uploaded, which I suspect is going to be a tough watch.

Not as depressing as it sounds, I’d say most of it is fascinating.

Spot on. The interview with Super Kevin Horlock a few weeks back was a real eye opener. Great in depth chat about how it was back in the day.

Sub to typical city and esteemed kompany on YouTube
Typical city is funny, always taking the piss.
Esteemed kompany knows his stuff but doesn't seem to post as much these days.
I like Typical City. Says it how it is and loves a wind up. Cheeseys blogs are legendary, apart from that pissed up idiot who constantly gets on after the game. Big Steve's quality, proper gives the red cartel wankers grief when they start playing Citeh bingo. And Prime muttons not bad, even if its just to get an idea of where to get a good pint in town. Don't really bother with any others.

I don’t like many fan channels so started my own. It’s a hobby but I preview and review most matches, but not Newcastle as I was far too pissed at the game

I view it as a thought box. It’s a bit of fun but I can guarantee one thing - I never use words like ‘cook’ and ‘glaze’. I tend to turn off channels when I hear words like that

I just stick to two pods: 93:20 and Noisy Neighbors (sic). Polar opposites. The former is the most cerebral MCFC pod and has a good deal of humour mixed in, while Joey and Mulv are a very funny and likeable.

I honestly find the banter channels (Big Steve, LB etc..) either nauseating or boring. No offense intended to these types of vlogs but I am in my 50s and these are not the kind of thing I find interesting or entertaining. To be fair, I don't think I am the target audience!

I only like the ones that actually go to the games.
Watching someone broadcasting.from their bedroom is stupid in this day and age.

Mutton and Steven McInerney (on here as Twosips). Don't need any more. Neither are sensationalist, just measured guys and - definitely in the case of Mutton - often the City content is mixed in with other things.

Fan channels drive me mad usually. I don't watch any of the very obvious wind-up ones. Mark Goldbridge, the bald Irish Liverpool fella, AFTV, all that. They make money by winding people up and I won't give them my time.

Goldbridge isn't even his real name and he's not a United fan. He's a former Nottm Forest supporter and former copper that goes by the name Brent Di Cesare. He's openly admitted that Mark Goldbridge is a character he's created to wind up United fans. Why anybody watches him, even for a laugh, is a mystery.

As for podcasts, Let Me Talk is the best City one out there. Proper informed discussion, measured and non-sensationalist, no gimmicks, just David Mooney and Sam Lee calmly discussing the previous games. Mooney's a good moderator and Sam's knowledgeable, connected, and fair in his analysis. Him being an adopted City fan means he avoids all the hysterics you might get on other fan channels.

Really gets on my nerves that fella. Hates us more than he hates Everton and United

Seen the clip recently where he claims if someone called him fat in public he’d break their neck and break their families necks.
Lovely chap.

Esteemed Kompany is the only channel I subscribe to and regularly watch his stuff.

The staged meltdown content is rife with other clubs fan channels.

I'm not sure what is about him; I'm sure he's kind to animals, gives up his seat on the bus to little old ladies and donates to "charidee", but I just can't warm to him. And no; I'm sure he doesn't give a toss what I think of him. Why should he?

Also, shooting off at a tangent here; what's with these "watchalong" videos? Why would you want to watch someone watching the game as it's taking place? I'll watch the "highlights" clips later on of them imploding, but that's as far as I'll go.
I like Mutton as it’s a bit different than usual fan stuff…I’ve even watched quite of few of his food videos from China, Turkey, Spain etc. As for watchalongs- I can’t stand them…I’d rather follow the game on Teletext - those were the days

Waiting for the page to load. Something that fibre broadband just can't give you. And the odd game of Bamboozle. Bliss.

They're not for me personally - I'm nearing 60 so most "social media" (in quotes because social to me still means meeting in person) passes me by.
It's a generational thing so let them have it

In reply to the OP, Manchester City actively went out of their way threatening people making their own YouTube channel anywhere near the ground. So CITY TV and vanilla presenters it is. Should be much more like Arsenal Fan TV, encouraged by the club for starters.
