Labour now as short as 4/1 in places after being as long as 10/1 earlier in the week. While the odds have shifted a bit on the Greens and Reform over the past few days - Greens drifting slightly and Reform shortening slightly - the shifts aren't anywhere near as big as what we've seen with Labour

Got told recently that the reason Labour didn't allow burnham to run wasn't mainly due to the threat of a leadership challenge, it was because they were shitting themselves they'd lose the manchester mayor to reform. Don't know if true but the person does know what they're on about usually, and it makes sense. Losing a flagship mayor like manchester would be devastating for labour (and for manchester).At the end of all this one thing will be clear

It won't be people choosing greens fault as is being peddled, labour have runa a negative campaign throughout rather thanreally push Angelika as a person or her cpu cil achievements.
Ultimately though it will be the labour NEC and Starmer for running scared of Andy Burnham that has potentailly seen a safe seat go under.

Possibly. The bookies are rarely wrong and Labour are still the outsiders of the three, but they did get it wrong with Brexit and with Trump's first term so it'll be interesting to see how this plays outIt could very well play out the way Johnny Crossan has said it would. for this bi-election, 100%. it's been a perfect storm of people generally fucked off with starmer and the shenanigans with not allowing burnham to run. spoke to a lad yday who's voting green but we both agreed we'd probably be back to labour in the future.Only because of the Labour showing in Denton.

Abbey Hey, round Sunny Brow and High bank way could well stay labour, not really any indication as not many posters up, but from talking to local CLP members who all love round there they don't feel support has been lost amongst many neighboursOnly because of the Labour showing in Denton.

Wanting to learn English is great and how it should be if you want to live here permanently, it doesn't stop you speaking your mother tongue though. However the NHS awarded translation contracts last November to run for two years worth approx £75m! I think the government will pay out over £100m in that time, a frightening amount given the dire state of the UK's finances. I wonder how much Spain spends translating documents into English or the Chinese or the South American countries? Trafford General alone spent £2.5m in 2024 / 25 on translation and interpreting services!
Another way to put this is The NHS spends 0.014% of it's annual budget on translation services.
Aye, I know, but this thread is about this bi-election, hence my discussing only denton and gorton. I know people have been voting tactically all over the country, it's slightly bizarre to have to now do it in ours as we used to be such a staunch labour seat.Tactical voting to keep reform out isn't confined to the Denton and Gorton constituency.
Despite reform being ahead in the polls, more people are prepared to vote against them than for them, and fear of them galvanises a lot people to go and vote when they wouldn't normally bother.

Yeah, it's similar to the way I'm feeling. I voted Green and did inthe last election, last time there was 2 reasons first was I no longer support labour or it's shifted ideology, second the boundary chamge force Gwynne upon us and I was never voting for that fucker.
