Wrong.

Do you also apply the same standards to the Brits who are now living in Spain, France, Cyprus etc.?

Here's the thing.

Our hospitals are falling down.
You can't get an appointment with a doctor nor dentist for love nor money.
The police are missing in action.
Our rivers are full of shit.
Our coastlines are crumbling into the sea.
Our roads are full of pot holes.
Our railways are not fit for purpose.
Our social services have been in crisis mode for decades.
Our schools are overcrowded and understaffed.
Our armed forces have been pared to the bone.
The alliances that have ensured our security for 80 years are coming apart.
There is war in Europe.
We are under attack from Russia in a variety of non-combative ways.

How did immigration become the issue so many people obsess about?

It looks like it isn't this time

I don't live in Gorton but I'm thinking that this will be used by the parties and the media as the "Political Barometer" for the rest of the country. It'll be used in any way whatever to destabilise the government going forward, until the next Election

So the three main party`s Reform, the ones that told us they were going to stop immigration, if we came out of Europe, are now telling us they will stop immigration if we vote them into government, total liars, their foreign owners will not let them. Labour who has just employed a company to oversee the NHS, a company that since it`s existence has, murdered civilians, men, women, children and babies, bombed schools and hospitals, specialized in following home health care workers and killing their entire families, i suppose that is what Labour call safe hands, then there is the Greens who at least knew where Denton was before the election, as for their policies, Starmer had 16 mandates before he was Labour leader, that went down to 6 before he was PM at which point there were none, the Greens will do what they are allowed, years of study will happen before any major change.

Yes and the first regulations came in. due to concerns of soldiers on leave in WW1 using opioids to destress tge horros of trench warfare the dangerous drugs act came in that made them only available through phamacists, hospitals and doctors, pretty and regulated and the production and distribution controlled much what the greens as proposing.
only when in 1971 the dangerous drugs act criminalised them and took them out of the medical and authorities control and it became a criminal enterprise again. The opium wars had nothing to do with that
Heroin is the common denominator friend, it's a dangerous addictive drug and inevitably brings with it a criminal distribution network that society must resist not accommodate.

Drove down Gorton Lane this afternoon on my way for an hour's culture at The Monastery and Mrs Ewing and I saw but one placard of a political slant - and that was Reform. Clear indication that folk are just pissed off with politics 'n politicians.
yeah same one I saw and mentioned, means nowt, round there is full of not rites ;-)

Seen four street sweepers in the last week cleaning the roads.

Making the place look all clean for the cameras are we Labour Council?

I hadn't seen a single street sweeper in the last 4 months prior to this week and the streets are always filled with dead leaves and rubbish.

They are always out doing shit like that just before a vote. So somehow thinking you’ll forget they haven’t done it for a couple of years.

Because people read or listen to headlines without questioning or researching what they are told - if they like the bearer of the message they take every message at face value as truth.

My Dad says the country has gone to the dogs because of black people. I tell him net migration is massively down and he moans thats why at 86 ( soon to be 87 ) he is told it could take 5 years to get a hip replacement so he is resigned to dying without it happening - which he also blames on black people leaving the UK. Anyone following that logic is lost to any rational thought.

You’re spot on.However, it’s probably because some racist, Thatcher loving twat has told a load of sheep that all this is down to immigrants.

Can you tell me the last time either Tories or Labour campaigned on a manifesto where they promised to increase immigration?

Despite them both saying they’ll cut immigration, we’ve been given the complete opposite of their promises. The apotheosis of these broken promises being the grotesque numbers seen with the Boriswave.

This is why immigration is a major issue. Until a party deals with this properly and delivers what the electorate actually want, it will remain the same. It looks like Labour are starting to deliver on this now though, which is promising.
