Denton and Gorton by-election - Green Party wins

Family voting? My grandad, grandma, mum, dad, 5 uncles, most of their families, me, the wife and my 2 kids all voted Labour in past General elections. Is that family voting?
It's when more than one person is around the booth when someone is making their vote, increasing the risk that their vote is being manipulated or coerced, rather than it being of their own free will, i.e. someone ensuring you vote the way they want you to and checking you put your X in the box they want.

You can say to your family 'i'm voting Labour', e.g, as much as you want, but when in the booth, you change your mind, vote for someone else and still tell your family you voted Labour. That's a free vote. Family voting prevents people from making their own choice by having a family member check to see how they actually voted.

I’ve just put it on for 2 minutes and although both Green and Reform looked to be a little angry, it seemed like the presenter was only picking up on Polanski saying ‘If Reform get over the line’.

Made it sound like Reform were the favourites, or was it just the stress of the evening?
The Labour rep certainly looked the most cheerful

MAGA’isation of our politics by parties that can only campaign on hate and division.

And where have these Democracy Volunteers popped up from all of a sudden, were they not there to mention it in the last election?

Drafted in by Farage, no doubt, knowing that there was a greater chance of him losing, than winning.

Not watching it but hope he sticks around for the result, instead of fucking off and leaving his muppets to face the cameras if they lose.
Don’t think he’s there is he?

She seemed angry at the way Reform campaigned, highlighting misogyny and possible racism in the Reform candidate. She did sound pleased though, but more that Reform weren't in the lead.

Never understood how anybody could know what the current count was, do they have people overseeing and reporting back on the count?

Polanski doesn't sound confident. Says "We've given Labour a good scare" and their vote has "held up well".

Oh well, at least the streets are clean for once.

If he’s not, they’ve definitely lost. Will be a bit of a disaster for Reform as they wanted to prove that their pledges were winning out, and even though the vote was obviously going to be split by the increased Green vote, they still couldn’t get it over the line.

Could be wrong, though, Reform may still take this.
