It's when more than one person is around the booth when someone is making their vote, increasing the risk that their vote is being manipulated or coerced, rather than it being of their own free will, i.e. someone ensuring you vote the way they want you to and checking you put your X in the box they want.Family voting? My grandad, grandma, mum, dad, 5 uncles, most of their families, me, the wife and my 2 kids all voted Labour in past General elections. Is that family voting?
You can say to your family 'i'm voting Labour', e.g, as much as you want, but when in the booth, you change your mind, vote for someone else and still tell your family you voted Labour. That's a free vote. Family voting prevents people from making their own choice by having a family member check to see how they actually voted.
