Denton and Gorton by-election - Green Party wins

Christ, you are both right.

Hazel Grove constituency does border Gorton and Denton.

The place of Hazel Grove does not border Gorton and Denton
We’re in a thread about a local by-election, talking about voting intentions.

If it wasn’t so funny it would be painful.

Yep we don’t agree and won’t find common ground. The Green’s tactics won’t land outside of highly concentrated Muslim areas though, they’d get battered for that in Hazel Grove that borders Gorton/Denton.

Let’s leave it there, until someone else barges in…
I admire you standing your ground mate, but it's going to be a long day for you trying to fend off the 8 headed snake on here.
I've witnessed others try it on various politics threads on BM but they end up walking away from the 'mob rule' scenario that quickly comes to the fore on each topic/debate.

At least City kick off later, I know that doesn’t stop a few of them though.

Not nice being picked on as the minority, is it?

Have their backs, about what? It’s a fucking foreign conflict thousands of miles away.

Given our track record in the Middle East, we should be nowhere near it.
Our track record in the Middle East? You mean supporting the Zionist terrorists a century ago?

Our responsibility for the genocide goes back that far.

we’ve bollocks’d up pretty much every “intervention” we’ve done in the Middle East for a very long time.

Th current conflict is the responsibility of the Israeli government and Hamas.

I've lived in Denton all my 57 years of life.
I still dont understand Gorton, longsight and Levenshulme sharing our mp.
My neighbouring towns are Hyde,Reddish,Ashton,Bredbury.
Constituencies have to be similar sizes. All sorts of odd combinations.

I wonder if you're wumming now. If that were all there was to it, it wouldn't have been an election issue. There's another thread for looking at the genocide.

You will find sometimes that those that normally disagree can agree on certain things, you would have been more aware of that if you hadn't been banned for being a bit of a dick. Anyhow some of us have work to do.

Ttfn.

saying that the current Gaza conflict is the fault of Israel and Hamas is wumming?

Fuck me.

I thought the same, but it appears that Denton aren't the only ones in tameside that come under different constitutions. Hyde, Stalybridge, Mossley and parts of Dukinfield come under a different one as well. I don't know if that means we don't actual get a vote for tameside for the council elections. Can't get my head round it.
Edit, looks like we still all vote in our local area for tameside.

I answered it, you didnt say constituency, there was no need for the map. Christ give it up. Must go.
I didn’t think I’d need to considering we were talking about fucking voting intentions.

If you knew that Hazel Grove does border Gorton and Denton, you wouldn’t have called me silly.

If you’re not man enough to admit that, stop replying.

They didn’t. It was 41%. They were never going to win in Gorton. Be interesting to see the breakdown of wards though.

The bigger story is the crashing of Labour in one of the biggest left wing areas of the country.
Labour have moved significantly to the right under Starmer, but now there is a progressive party alternative, though this result will at the very least stop them trying to "out reform reform".
Lib Dems?
It and the Welsh Bye-election have shown again the positives of tactical voting, and in many constituencies the Lib-dems will be the beneficiary of the tactical votes.

It is almost as if threatening - promising to deport "repatriate" parts of the electorate isn't the best way to get their support, though this must be a surprise.
