Yeah, i don’t know when it changed for Denton to be in the same constituency as Levenshulme but i know it wasn’t in the past. Shame Denton was part of this one really or it would have been an absolute landslideI've lived in Denton all my 57 years of life.
I still dont understand Gorton, longsight and Levenshulme sharing our mp.
My neighbouring towns are Hyde,Reddish,Ashton,Bredbury.
Er, we were quite happy not being part of you guys, thanks very much.I've lived in Denton all my 57 years of life.

But the Greens didn’t just campaign on Gaza in Gorton and Denton. They campaigned on a multitude of issues and it resonated with enough people from multiple demographics to decide to vote for them. Oh, and as @hilts said, what’s happening in Gaza isn’t just pissing the Muslim community off - it’s pissing off a lot of white indigenous British citizens too. And not all of them identify as left-wing, not by a long chalkIt was Tory for years prior before that, we had the sexting scandal MP. My argument is campaigning on Gaza won’t win you victory in our constituency.
Right, but my argument is that it was the difference maker for them. The day before the election the polling suggested, by demographic, that white Brits were mostly voting Reform in the constituency, I think I saw 60% off the top of my head, and only 20% of white Brits were voting Green. But the Greens didn’t just campaign on Gaza in Gorton and Denton. I wouldn't say that mate, a fair few voted green in Denton, me included , plenty of signs up for them as well. I'd like to know the breakdown of votes in each area though.Yeah, i don’t know when it changed for Denton to be in the same constituency as Levenshulme but i know it wasn’t in the past. Shame Denton was part of this one really or it would have been an absolute landslide
Wasn't blaming anyoneEr, we were quite happy not being part of you guys, thanks very much.
Blame the councils for lumping us together.
Yeah shame those pesky English men and women in Denton got a vote.Yeah, i don’t know when it changed for Denton to be in the same constituency as Levenshulme but i know it wasn’t in the past. Shame Denton was part of this one really or it would have been an absolute landslide
Two separate constituencies, that have never been part of one another, have suddenly been lumped together by this council as of 2024.Yeah shame those pesky English men and women in Denton got a vote.
Do Labour run the Boundary Commission? Two separate constituencies, that have never been part of one another, have suddenly been lumped together by this council as of 2024.
It was Manchester Gorton, Gwynne followed on from the likes of Afzal Khan and Gerald Kaufman.
Why Denton was added was preciesly because Labour knew their support in Manchester Gorton and safest seat was wavering slightly and wanted it bolstered by their numbers in Denton, splitting the other side into Manchester Rusholme, in an effort to keep both seats Labour.
Didn't work.
On the flip side, at least it now borders Hazel Grove. Two separate constituencies, that have never been part of one another, have suddenly been lumped together by this council as of 2024.

Was more because they weren’t apart of it in the past and it was clear a Labour tactic. Still alls well that ends well!Yeah shame those pesky English men and women in Denton got a vote.
I voted Green to keep Reform out.Lumped together by "this council"?
The councils don't have a say, and it fall in two.
You should be grateful for Labour as Reform will take away your minimum wage.
Have you seen the weather mate? Was more because they weren’t apart of it in the past and it was clear a Labour tactic. Still alls well that ends well!
