Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

The half time queue for the toilet was a disgrace, and inevitably not helped by the smokers blocking the route to the urinals on the left hand side, and subsequently funnelling everyone towards a manic survival of the fittest

By the time I reached the front, there were 3-4 vacant urinals, and yet dozens still queuing behind me.

Strangely nobody seemed that bothered as it just added to the old-school atmosphere that we all secretly love
I saw a woman having a panic attack on the concourse. Everyone did a good job of moving aside to give her air but there was basically no respite apart from in the stand itself.

It's a weird one, because I can't be the only supporter who loves the old-school atmosphere at Elland Road whilst simultaneously being shocked at the prehistoric facilities

I've watched City from all four stands at Leeds and the current away end seems far more dangerous than any of the previous ones.

I got back from having a piss to find the whole away end singing the “Jimmy Savile’s barmy army song”.

Thought it was a fantastic old school away end atmosphere yesterday. The Leeds fans to the right of us tried their best but they just kept getting drowned out. Disappointed with the Leeds Kop - there didn’t seem to be much coming from that end.

Some right thick twats amongst the Leeds support. Singing “What’s it like to see a crowd?” to us after they announced the attendance as 36,000 was beyond parody. Also, did anyone spot the Leeds fan with the retro yellow shirt repeatedly doing aeroplane signals to us after the final whistle? Fucking weird ****!
Leeds in thick as fuck shocker. ;)

Not known for their intelligence ?

I went to Leeds.
The best atmosphere I’ve heard this season at an away match I’ve been to.
A proper old skool ground.
A proper old skool fan base.
Leeds fans standing on both ends behind the goals.
Local support.
Hardly, if any, tourists.
I didn’t see any half and half scarfs.
No camera phones filming the match.
Everyone staying until the end of the match.
Loads of banter back and forth between the Leeds fans in the South stand and City fans in the away end.
The only thing I can fault the Leeds fans for is the lack of different chants.
As for our support, as per usual it was superb.
I hope it came across like that on the TV?
Yesterday reminded about what old atmospheres used to be like and I fucking loved it!

Norwich had a better 3rd tier average attendance than one of those Leeds seasons in that division and numerous better 2nd tier average attendances:

Leeds do have the best atmosphere in the country, but they have no grounds to give us shit over attendances.

36k there yesterday to jeers and laughter from our end. When we get 36k we see it as a pathetic outing.

17 straight seasons of crap attendance (up to 10,000 below a relatively small capacity) immediately before Covid.

After the stadium announcer said the crowd was 36000 the City fans were singing What’s it like to see a crowd. Leeds fans singing back What’s it like to see a crowd. Good old banter.

Cannot beat old fashioned terrace banter.
Anyone remember at Stoke's Victoria Ground, the whole crowd singing "Alan Ball's a Wanker" ?

I'd argue this isn't even something to fault them for.

They may not have many chants but they hardly stopped singing. They sung we all love Leeds for about 10 minutes straight at one point.

I wish we sung individual songs for longer, it seems like we're always in a rush to get through the songbook

We don't have enough songs about the players actually on the pitch and doing their best to keep us in the title race

I thought our away following was fantastic and to outsing Leeds Utd at Elland Road is something special. Blues watching on TV said they could only hear our fans for most of the game.

It was far better than the usuaL away atmosphere we slap ourselves on our backs about.when one song finished the next was underway. Virtually all the fans in our end joined in singing as far I could see / hear. Often it doesn’t get much above 1 in 2.

The key to out singing Lees’s is not to worry about Marching on Together although we tried to match that. It’s dominating after the early loud start from Leeda and going again when the find their second wind around 70 minutes. We matched them and sometimes drowned them out:

Brilliant lads and ladies
