Nottingham Forest (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

We looked thrown together and Forest looked like a team

However if we had managed a win Forest would now be in the bottom three. So they are a poor team and we struggled to get to grips with them.

We are winning nothing this season.

Do not start Foden again please Pep he has gone and for the life of me I don’t know why.

Quite incredulous some of the posts on here , slagging off the team , players and manager , actually they fought 100% for all the game , we know we dont have the quality of previous teams , but dont give them shit for not giving 100% every game that is total bollocks.
We are only competing because the league has levelled out , any of the teams in this league can give you a game this season , there is no stand out team , unlike when we dominated for years and blew teams away.
Next season will be Pep's last at the club and i think these players will peak next year and gel as a team , but i am not writing off this season , far from it, we have come from up to ten points behind against far better teams than the Goons , keep the faith.
Nice sentiment but we really should be beating this lot at home.

I got in the ground about 7 and looked at the line up and wondered where the midfield was.
We have no pace and take an age to get forward. Rodri was immense and deserved to be on the winning team, Bernie put in a good do shift, as did Guehi. Donna is crackers, wtf was he doing arguing with their player when we scored our second under the nose of the ref. Peps subs were odd to say the least, Savinho is wank, unfortunately so is Foden these days, neither should be anywhere near the first team.

Anyway the product needs someone who plays in red to win it, so fuckem.
savinho did more in ten minutes then rest all game go watch it back but he's bit shit ok

We have got the quality but quality is not enough. You also need desire. What I am not sure about is whether we sat on that game because that is how Pep wanted us to play, or whether we thought we had done enough.

A game is never safe at 1-0, or 2-1 and yet we dilly dallied instead of going for another goal. I said repeatedly in the stand, that they were going to equalise if we don't get another goal. If you don't go for another goal, you will often concede. You have to take some risks to go for another goal but we were too conservative.

We brought this on.

Stop with the crying for a penalty that if ever given against us we'd lose our minds over saying yet again we were cheated.

We deserve to drop points when we play like we've had our balls lopped off at the half

Lax, complacent - no real sign that it mattered.

Erl if not 100% should not have started.

Phil playing like he's scared of his own shadow and making mistakes all over the shop. Swagger is gone. Belief is gone. Gutted it's going that way for him.

Bernie with about the most fight along with Rodri and Guehi.

Will miss that little underrated bastard when he inevitably leaves and realize if he had even a half yard more pace he'd be mentioned amongst the current and recent greats.

Cherki and Semenyo good for the most part. No serious slag except I'd like to see Cherki trying less to win fouls with his "roll like a Brazilian" then pop right up technique.

RAN a few decent spells. Looking more confident but still convinced the best in him would be seen in a 3 center half set up.

Donna beaten by a brilliant MGW blind back flick and great Elliot Anderson strike so can't 100% call him out for not making the stops when it wasn't him who put him in that position to have to make them.

Too little to rate Doku and really wasn't on long enough to get up to speed... If he's even up to speed.

Putting on Savinho when we were desperate for a goal is a cue to collect your things and leave early doors. He's not good enough and how Marmoush wasn't a better option even in his poor vein of form makes me wonder.

Dias still looks like he's miles off his old best and that once Gvad is back he's easily 3-4th choice.

Nunes well off it- can't put a finger on it and, no- I'm not rewatching that match.

I prolly left somebody out but TBH i couldn't be arsed as I'm tired of the lack of effort and equally tired of the fans who can still come away from this one and first sentiments uttered are "it wasnt our fault."

Bottom line to win the title:
1) win all games,
2) Arse have even a draw in the rest of theirs which I fully expect...

City are champions.

caveat:

We have to beat Arsenal.
Savinho did more in that last 10 minutes than any of our other attacking players did all game

Nice sentiment but we really should be beating this lot at home.
Maybe as fans we underestimated Forest , they have a solid defence and some quality in midfield , they are in a false position , if it wasnt for their dickhead owner changing managers every few weeks they would much further up the league, but agree we cant afford to concede leads especially at home.

Zero excuses tonight. We had our warning when they made it 1-1. A one goal lead wasn't going to be enough tonight. At 2-1 we ignored that warning and were made to pay for it. Forget the time wasting, forget the ref, this one sits firmly with our team and manager. We've had this sort of performance in our locker all season, and sadly we'll probably see it again (because the warnings are not being heeded)

Spend far too much of our games, probably about 35/40 mins. Passing from one side of the pitch to the other. We must end these boring side shows. Get more crosses in and shots on goal. Forest scored from a cross, then from 25trds. By having a pop. Simples

Semenyo isn't the total package but has freely scored important goals. Khusanov is young but has huge upside. Reis has impressed on loan.
Jury's out on the rest.
I think our business has been decent if not spectacular.
for me Semenyo aint techincally good enough to play not if we play Haaland as well in the same starting 11.

Reis - aint worth discussing till he has played a season in the prem at least

Agree on Khusonov

Probably the highest XG of the season - exceptional groans, every time marc guehi misplaced a pass, every time diaz slowed the attack down, every time Phil lost the ball after asking for the pass with his back to goal, every time we tried to go through the middle instead of stretching their 5 or 6 man defence, every time we had the opportunity to counter, but no we put our foot on the ball until the forest defence had got back into position. We try to control games with slow, slow build up, then try to win them by putting wingers on, speeding up the passes and create goal scoring opportunities. Too little, too late

Just watched MotD. The good news is that Arsenal were really poor and needed a deflection for the goal. Small margins - including the Darren England factor.
