What has caused the current volatility in the world

The volatility is caused by megalomaniac pricks who run these superpowers, people slag off people like Starmer and our own Albonese in Oz but they are decent human beings who I could never imagine starting a war.
Maybe America Russia etc could do with these types of leaders.
This all day long. Whatever else Keir Starmer has done wrong this time he has got it almost right. He is not following like a lapdog in Trump’s wake.
Trump, in my humble opinion, is doing the old magicians sleight of hand trick so that people forget or play down his part in the Epstein files.
As well as being a warmonger Trump is most definitely the four letter word that I read from you but cannot say. He is also a person without a father.
I am trying to be rational and calm but it is very, very hard.
Sorry.

greed - terrible to read that the most popular reply when children are asked, "what do want to be when you grow up?" is now "rich and famous"...

Football forums where peole of all walks of life are brought togther for their love of a club but instead go looking for ways to be divided in the politics sub forum

I'm not sure I've ever known the world any different. I've certainly never known a decade go by without without the a constant threat of war or terrorism.
Its that just nowadays we have instant access to news 24/7 and every fucker thinks they're an expert on it.

I am sure we all have our theories. It seems to have been going tits up since 2015ish for me. Social media, immigration issues, Trump and maga, Ukraine, Covid, other things. It seems to have been a perfect storm of things.

For me I think the social uprising in north Africa and the ME back in the early 2010s, Tunisia then spreading to surrounding countries, the immigration caused by that, the political point scoring off the back of that by the RW, then the flustering and headless chicken govns we have had because of the rise of the right and (Supposed) immigration problems I think all that was watched by America who said we dont want that, we want Trump. And then Trump has fucked things up even more.

I dont assume I am right tbh but thats my theory, dont hammer me for it - I dont really care if I am right or wrong.... What about everyone else though.
Middle East was always volatile but I think, for the West, 9/11 changed everything. It was the point when many decided that the only way to fight the committedly violent was to to reciprocate. Fight fire with fire.

China - I think has just got richer and more powerful and throughout history the rich and powerful have always wanted more and more, because they can. Many people in Western counties yearn for political power so that they can also then impose their radical solutions onto others. It seems to be human nature to assume that what you believe is also right.

Russia - Dictator issue. Clearly someone who sits on his arse while thousands upon thousands of his own countrymen die is a lunatic. They deserve better. Slava Ukraini!

Ultimately the problem is that we are unable to compromise which may be personality and genetically based rather than a lack of democracy or education.

The current volatility in the world is caused by national interests of the Western states.

I would say it has been going ever since 1945. I leave to others to define what national interest is and which Western states are.

They are the only agents capable of projecting and acting upon them globally.

If I was to write an essay on this topic, these are the lines I would use as leads and try to expand on.

Don't sit on the fence. Tell us how you really feel?

:)

In the meantime here's something to take your mind of the ****

People unable to accept that we live short lives on a tiny planet with finite resources, and being unable to see that it's better to try to get along peacefully and share things. Use our evolved intellgence for the greater good, not personal gain.
Earths' resources are not necessarily finite.
I agree that we humans have to try to get along peacefully, however, there are some elements who are determined not to do so.

You might technically be correct, but I doubt most people will wait the necessary millions of years for the next lot of oil to be made.
