Been Chief Operating Officer of the group since 2020, but is moving to become CEO of Stage Entertainment.

I think you meant 2020, not 2000.

He came in then and seemed like a breath of fresh air but his subsequent interactions with City Matters and his attitude towards fan engagement has been largely negative.

Sorry, yeah that was a typo. I met him in New York a couple of years ago, and he seemed like a decent enough fella but not sure how much he's been responsible for the increasingly strained relationship between the club and local fans? If so, it'd be nice if the new appointee helps to reconcile things on that front.

He makes a very good point here - senior figures at CFG (such as de Vries and Berrada before him) leaving to secure CEO positions at lesser companies definitely indicates an internal confidence that the incumbent is going nowhere, and succession planning at CEO level is simply not part of the conversation at City.

Like or not - it appears that Soriano’s position is not under threat right now.

Which is good news as a barometer of the the mood at City, and confidence levels re: the accusations against us.

I see what you did there. I like it.
 
It’s a personal decision to leave nothing more.

30 years working in different countries and 8 years away from family the was just right for him to move home.

My impression of him is that he was Soriano light, he gave some ground to the fans on prices last year but ultimately the moving of fans needlessly from the north stand and the ticket transfer fiasco this season must have been overseen / signed off by people at his level.
