North Stand Construction Discussion

Wherever people pick their (unoccupied) seats, the same way it's always worked. Why would they only be in one section?
I never intimated or posted they would only be in one section.

City might limit the number of new 4000 FG seasons tickets in certain stands, tiers, and blocks, whilst allocating more of the new 4000 FG season tickets in certain stands, tiers, and blocks. It might not be a pick an unoccupied seat where you want to sit. City might offer and allocate the new 4000 FG season ticket seats.

Hopefully we’ll find out in the coming weeks or next month how the club are going roll this out.

Except that no one knows what either of those will be, so people are being idiots until they do.
The criteria is 35 games bought over the last 3 seasons using the matchday membership.
The rate going off this season is going to be at least £58 per match.
I’m not slagging the club, it’s more the way football has gone mate.
If we are going to sell that ground out week after week, then they need to have a rethink
Because it’s not going to work the way it is now.

There isn’t going to be many better looking stadiums internally than the Etihad when the North stand is completed.

Arsenal Emirates is the nearest comparison. I've been a few times and hated it. Wembley is another similar stadium without warmth and soul.

The Etihad is a different world to Maine Rd and about to get even better.

Internally the Etihad is one of the best looking football stadiums in the country.

Over the years due to the Etihad’s expansion, it has now lost that lovely, unique and recognisable curved roof shape that it used to have.

That's the initial criteria, if they don't shift all 4,000+ then I'd guess that would lower.

That £58 figure is matchday ticket territory surely, don't STs start at circa £345 (£18 per game)?

Agreed, although the N and S stand developments have added the "character" that new stadia are criticised for lacking. Taking all into account, is there a better stadium for fans watching football?

Gotcha. It would make sense that most would be taken up in the newly expanded section anyway. Don't renewals who want to relocate get first dibs? If so that'll determine where else is available.

I'm not an architect, and someone has been paid a lot of money to let their Star Wars fetish run wild.

I like simplicity and think the hotel would have been better as a stand alone.

It wasn't loaded or sarcastic question just fyi. Was genuinely curious, as I alway am, when people note strong preferences.

No worries, and beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.

We've made a rod for our own backs now with this grey exterior.

The Manchester weather has a lot to answer for and people have also had their expectations raised because of what Abu Dhabi can do in Abu Dhabi.

I have noticed the roof is now leaking in the Colin Bell stand and pissing on to the tunnel club?

I suspect we might need a new roof structure before much longer?

Forgive me if Ive dreamt this , but I seem to recall for a club to take revenue from a hotel it has to be physically attached to the stadium (as at Chelsea) but as I said I may have imagined it ??
