Seat Counters 25/26

It costs more to watch crap in the Championship.
Matches against the biggest team in the World, and against the Red Scouse in a quarter final have got to be worth more than two packs of ciggies. (Thought i would catch Cancer going for a wee v Forest )

Even if that means those who think they deserve cheap tickets for whatever reason are replaced by those who want to pay.
Normally I’d agree in principle, but the club have lost us IMO, and they’re now in a position where they have to win supporters back. It used to be ‘Together’ this and ‘Be part of it’ that, but they’ve made strategic decisions to prioritise day trippers over loyal fans and they’re paying the price for it now. It’s a crazy position to be in given the team and manager we have, and the competitions we’re fighting for, but they’ve made ridiculous decisions over the last few years, and they have to take responsibility for it and find a way of fixing it. If they don’t, they run the risk of it being even worse, as fans don’t want to sit in half empty ground with flat atmospheres, which could push even more Blues away.

Don’t worry mate, there’s two new hospitality sections opening next season. That will improve the atmosphere inside the Etihad.

It’s a good thing this drop off is happening now and not next season. At least it gives the powers running the club notice that they’re ruining things and a substantial part of our long term fans have fucked it off, and that they need to get them back.

If this fall off happened next year, with £50+ tickets regularly, we’d have a seriously empty and stale stadium.

They will see it as an opportunity to entice more of the 99% that don't live in Manchester rather than try and get the locals back in.

What if it's the other way around and it's out of town seasoncard holders who can't make midweek games, or can't afford the Cup Schemes and travel costs?

We best keep winning serious amount of trophies then mate. The tourists only want to see the best.
If we don’t try and introduce a new ticketing policy then the north stand is a white elephant.

Agree with both these posts but there is a massive ray of hope: the new stand. They have to use this to both rejuvenate the atmosphere and entice back lapsed, vocal fans. It will cost them money as a lost leader but inject new energy into the club. A single noisy “end” will attract new, lapsed and even corporate fans to the club.

It’s blindingly obvious if you ask me. Once last chance.

Especially if City get a favourable result tomorrow...
True mate. Up until recently, we used to sell a few thousand Champs League tickets in the last couple of days before the game. The empty seats obsessives need to go for a lie down.

There's a fair amount of revisionism on here. The "together" banner (ditching The Kippax) was a low point of our support at the Etihad. It ranks alongside South Stand L3 emptying with 10 mins to go when we were 1 nil behind to a Rashford goal in the derby.

If they dropped £20 off a ticket, it would equate to Kalvin and Kovatic’s wages.
Probably less, given we would make off the bar sales, if it was a full house.

Jumping the gun a bit.

It’s going to be Bayern.

They won 1-6 tonight against Atalanta.

3000 Bayern fans and a sold out Etihad.

It should be a cracking atmosphere at the Etihad against Bayern if City do beat Real Madrid over 2 legs?

Genuinely not a clue what your on about other than every thread I seen to look at and there you are miserable as sin. Apologies if I’m wrong.

Every thread? You’re making up as you go along! So do you think my last post above was miserable as sin? Do you think my posts on the Etihad Campus thread, the vast majority of my posts on the North stand construction thread, my posts on the atmosphere thread, the Mama Mia thread, the Manchester Skyline thread, and numerous other threads across the forum are miserable as sin? They aren’t, and you know they aren’t. If you think my posts on every thread are miserable, do yourself a massive favour and put me on ignore, that way you won’t have suffer my apparent misery anymore.

Back to topic and seat counting. Apologies to the other thread contributors. Keep up the good seat counting.

FFS it was a joke! Is Pride your twin brother? He’s given you a like.(he’s been stalking me for years on the forum) Neither of you can take a joke or tell when I’m messing about, even when it’s obvious. Go and get a humour transplant and chill out. I won’t tell you what you are. I’d get a forum ban if I did that.
Yawn...

All that “together” and “be part of it” shite felt disingenuous at the time, just a marketing exec’s idea of what it means to be a fan of a club and a way for the club to pay lip service to being fan friendly whilst being prepared to shaft real fans in pursuit of the bottom line. The seizure of seats near me in 204 as it was then to chase the corporate dollar had already started, even as they were putting out shiny, happy, one big family marketing guff.
