Khusa is a bit overrated on here. He couldn't get near Vin Jr and is very average going forward. Ake looks like a winger compared to him.

I get why some are over enthusiastic about speed and hard challenges, but there is so much more to defending and playing football than that.

That said, I'd play him at CB with Guehi in the 2nd leg and Nunes and RAN at FB. We should try to win 5:2 or something to get the tie to ET, so we'll be very open and we'll need him.

What? Kept Jr quiet most of the game

Nothing was funny about tonight mate, other than Pep thinking that Reijnders would make a difference.
so outrage on here when pep makes no subs
then outrage when he does make subs

only on bluemoon and just for clarity id of started Gonzalez but then again have him and rodri played together or atleast brought him on

Vin Jr was on his own up front and was opening spaces for Valverde and Diaz to attack in. He did it very well. Khusa was mostly running around him.

Khusa didn't offer anything we didn't already have in December when we won 2:1. Levels below Nunes in possession and attack. A bit like Guehi who is sound in defence (and tbf also in possession) but levels below Gvardiol going forward.

By 'opening up space' do you mean running around without the ball, no shots on trget,no bombing down the wing beating the full back and no cutting inside and smacking it in the top corner...?

It's obvious what I mean. If you struggle to get why Vin Jr had a good game, I can't help you.

Easily Doku. Only player that consistently carried a threat, even if he did fuck up a couple of openings. Everyone else was rabbit in the headlights or ghosted

Astonishing AK has as many votes as he does, this forum and City twitter have a real blind spot with him, granted he's not a right back but he was very poor. Missed Nunes massively.

It’s Uzbeki football fans mostly doing it, he is the only player outside of Messi and Ronaldo that has fans that go gaga at everything he does. Making hard beat TikTok’s to standard challenges.

I love the kid, ceiling to be the best CB in the world. But yesterday he had a poor game incredibly poor. Summed up at that third goal when Vini made him literally eat dirt. He was put on to stop specific things like that. And he was at fault for the penalty.

I think that Khusanov will become our stand out defender. Lets see what happens.

I hope he becomes the best, but he is currently far from that. Like Walker, he offers more in some purely defensive aspects but lacks class going forward. As a full package he won't be like Stones or Gvardiol. He will be more like the Walker of the CBs.

Personally, I think Reis may have a better career, as he looks very intelligent and good on the ball, without being soft in challenges or slow.
