I'd just say that U-turns aren't all bad. It would have been much better if Thatcher (the lady's not for turning) had u-turned on the Poll Tax - except she might not have been ousted as PM. I still can't believe the electorate voted for Major on a platform of getting rid of the Tories' own tax.
