Created next to nothing again, despite all the possession ..... good goal from Bernardo, and Semenyo's shot just wide, but very little else.

Donnarumma all over the place for the West Ham goal, with his height and stature he needed to be punching that away, and I don't think he covered himself in glory with Madrids first two goals the other night either.

All huff and puff at the moment ..... we need to show more quality, more control, and a cutting edge in the 2nd half, or we'll be lucky to come out of this even with a draw.

We’re going to end up losing the likes of Marmoush (I know he’s playing tonight but doesn’t usually unless Haaland out), Cherki and Trafford. When they should be what we’re building our future around.

No width again. Dog shit.

West Ham are terrible, they are there for the taking but we aren’t putting them away.
You want us to build our future around Marmoush? The same Marmoush who looks like a lottery winner out there tonight?

Seriously, he's been dreadful. Tripping over his own feet. You can tell after 10 minutes whether he's on it, and he's just not tonight.

Strange half. Think we could be doing better in terms of quality up front but our general play has been positive. West Ham have created nothing from open play, Donnarumma just misjudged a cross. Keep it up second half and with a bit more quality we'll do it.

apart from that very unlikely but great Bernardo goal we created very little. at the back WHU hardly had to create, just a corner and a goal gifted to them by GK and none of defenders even jumped.

who is in charge today? Leijnders? surely he was there with Klopp when they had brutal tempo how the fuck he is content with this slow approach in possession?;

worry now is the usual 2nd half drop off. if that happens we may even lose. we have harder away games left than this poor WHU side. Chelsea, Bournmouth, Everton all will be harder. at this rate Arsenal might win the title with 15 points clear that would be absymal for us.

9 points behind at the moment, huge HT team talk needed.

We’ve completely dominated but it’s only half the story.

We’ve created next-to-nothing. We’ve got a midfield 3 who don’t really create, I mean it’s not exactly KDB and David Silva in there. So then I’m looking to our wide men and they don’t create anything either. Semenyo and Marmoush (who has been particularly shite) don’t have a decent 1st touch between them. On paper it looks like we have a real dynamic and threatening front 3 but in reality it can’t work with the 3 that are behind them.

I really don’t understand our transfer strategy. We are still trying to play like a Pep team, with personnel that aren’t good enough to play it. We just look like a neutered version of what’s gone before. I actually think we would be better off playing super direct, our front 3 has Klopp style written all over it.

We look a bit clueless, like Pep and Viana have completely different strategies.

Can anyone explain what the manager has against Cherki? Or is he carrying a knock?
No, he's not injured, it's Pep's decision. Apart from the Salford match, he's only started twice in the last nine games, and both times (against Leeds and Nottingham Forest) he was decisive, providing an assist each time.

He reminds me of the type of player we'd sign c.2008-2012. He'd have been a cult hero in a different era, but it's such a step back from the era who have come from.

He's capable of banging in a cracker like we saw against Newcastle but his all round game and touch is poor.

For all the criticism levelled at Arsenal for their time wasting etc…

I find our current incarnation essentially does the same thing, but with the ball in play. We knock it around for days but don’t do anything with it. It’s incredibly negative as there is no intent.

It’s also not his fault at all. Marmoush considers himself as a 9. Why is he playing as a winger when he doesn’t have the ability to do so? We’ve been so poorly coached recently but critical thinking is a myth when it comes to Pep’s “tactics”
Bit of a concern that a top class player cant play between 1/2 positions if thats the case

Another snooze fest! Why is Semenyo playing number 10 role when we’ve got a natural in Cherki on the bench? Marmoush has never looked good on the left but Pep shoves him there anyway. Tactics are questionable but they are most weeks. Our corners are embarrassing and we have a 6 foot 6 keeper that flaps more than a bird! We need to make some changes ASAP!! And up the tempo ffs!

Thank fuck we haven't spent huge sums of money to play like this...
About 500 million in 2 years and he has no idea what his best formation is.
Love him but should go at the end of the season as he has failed for 2 years now to get the formation and tactics right. Hundreds of millions more this summer and it will be the same shit next season. Lost his aura for me.
Plays 3 strikers but zero creativity for them resulting in just 1 shot on target again in 45 minutes.
And usual 1 shot = goal for the opposition

Retained possession
Controlled the tempo
Not given away many chances

A good basis to kick on in the second half. Should be able to move through the gears with good options on the bench to change things up…..I’ve watched far worse first half performances this season
As someone else has said I think a lot of our fans have been duped into believing the above constitutes a good performance.
