Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Maybe we ain’t good enough this season hey! That is ok you know? You know no team can win the league every season for ever more we did four that not good enough for you?
It appears it’s not good enough for many on here, it really is astonishing to read some of the Pep out comments.
Entitled many have become although they will tell you they just want to see better football.
Why don’t they organise a Pep out banner or a demo before the game if they are so unhappy?

No balls I reckon….

Wanna know what happens when your best players get old and you don't have Pep as manager? Take a look at Liverpool.

Wanna know what happens when you buy random players without a plan or for a particular style and you don't have Pep as manager? Take a look at Spurs.

The Pep Out idiots need to be careful what they wish for.
Liverpool and Spurs have both won a trophy more recently than us.

You’re right it’s not good enough. Because this season it’s been a lot of man mismanagement. There are better lineups to play and there are times where you should read the situation and put a lineup out based on that. And it’s not a time to be blindly loyal when the premier league is for the taking. It’s one thing if there is a world beater team in the prem. Or the current round of the ucl. But that’s not the case. They could be won. But they aren’t due to poor tactics and no one being held accountable for it.

So yes you’re right it’s not good enough.

Start a Pep out thread you unhappy wanna see better football idiots, come on who’s got the balls?

Go on then, name this season all the games where we’ve been brilliant. I’ll help you, there aren’t many. So don’t come on then pointing towards one awesome performance as a metric for shutting people down.
Eh? There have been loads.

Wolves 4-0
United 3-0
Napoli 2-0
Burnley 5-1
Bournemouth 3-1
Dortmund 4-1 (Champions League)
Liverpool 3-0
Sunderland 3-0
Madrid 2-1 (Champions League)
Palace 3-0
West Ham 3-0
Exeter 10-1 (FA Cup)
Newcastle 2-0 (League Cup)
Liverpool 2-1
Fulham 3-0
Newcastle 3-1 (FA Cup)

The players aren't the problem. You can't keep spending money thinking the players are it. There's plenty of class in this side - certainly enough to beat a struggling West Ham.

It's clear after two seasons now that Pep's having trouble evolving from what he's always known. It's evident that he was somewhat aware of this, given the backroom changes made over the off season. Even still, it hasn't been enough to alter the course of the team. You can see it when we're in transition - too many players settling back into slow, recycled possession by default, instead of going for the kill and willing to take the risk of losing the ball. This is his coaching and it's engrained in this squad.

I’m gobsmacked that you believe winning 2 cups this season, whilst also finishing 2nd would be sub par, but each to their own eh?

I never said Pep was working wonders this season, so I’m not sure why you’ve mention that as being laughable?

As far as talent evaluators, I’ve never even heard that term in football before, so guessing you’re either from overseas or follow a sport that uses that terminology?

Ps, until Tuesday evening, we still have a chance of making the CL quarters, keep the faith mate, it’s not over ‘til the fat lady sings ;)
Of course I'd love us to do a madness Tuesday. By talent evaluators I'm talking about guys like Garry Riley, renowned as a talent evaluator in Manchester...

How did it turn out? Being embarrassed one season after the Klopp effect was fully expunged from the players consciousness.
Not really arsed where the dippers are right now, I was addressing your point that whoever replaces Pep will not win the league in their first season...

I just gave you recent precedent of that exact thing happening after a club losing a long term manager.

Sorry don’t buy that mate . Think we are better organised than that and basically if it’s true what you say then all this great football club is is just a one man operation which will go to shit when pep decides he wants to go .

We are run better but still when you lose a manager like pep they’ll be a drop of! look at the rags flapping about for 13 years and there is about to be a new dawn there they believe so the new films out>>

“Getting giddy again part 8”

Would you rule out them finishing above us even this season? I sure wouldnt.

And in my opinion they have bought better than us recently and are nearer ‘getting it right’ than we are.

Yep took them 13 years and they are still miles off , but our rebuild has been all over the shop, to the point that we still need to rebuild

But it's not one swallow is it. City played well in the draw at Arsenal and thumped Liverpool and United at home, beat the Dippers away, beat Real Madrid away in the league stage, thumped Newcastle in 2 Cups etc.

There is inconsistency with a younger team that is getting used to playing with each other. It happens.

We are in a rebuild and have improved on last year. That's progress even if we have some frustrations with some decisions that Pep makes. He makes far more good decisions than bad ones.
That’s fair comment, some good performances there. I suppose though you could also say nearly all those performances were pre Xmas so why have we regressed? Certainly this year there hasn’t been many decent ones, and far more appalling games.

If you’d read the thread you’d have seen I’m sick to death of people saying be careful what you wish for. No, I won’t, I don’t care, I just want to be entertained again.
What you 'Pep out because I'm bored' lot don't understand is that we'll come up against a deep block irrespective of who our manager is.

It's the price of success.

And the next manager will be less adept at dealing with it.

There is no settled team, and when we do play, there is so much interchange that half the team doesn’t know where the other half is going to be.

These patterns were ingrained in the players for years, but we are not only not playing those patterns, but we have some different kind of players trying to fit into a system that feels like it is being changed to be more dynamic…whenever possible.

There has been no “like for like” purchases, because the players who have moved on are, in many cases, world class and irreplaceable! KDB, David Silva, Kompany, and Yaya are generational players and we will never be replaced. But, different players will hopefully make their own mark.

Feels like results have made the CL and PL both a free hit, but we really do need to beat The Arse in the CC Final and Liverpool in the FAC QF to salvage a season that has been inconsistent at best, but shown so much potential promise.

Name a PL team that’s entertained by their football right now?

If you can’t (because there aren’t any) then why the hell would you think getting rid of Pep would bring back entertainment?

You’re sick to death of being told to be careful what you wish for but I don’t think you’ve put a seconds thought into why someone new coming in would actually play free flowing entertaining football.

You're not arsed, but used them to make a 'point'?

What point? By making an apples and oranges comparison? A new manager is simply not going to suddenly win the league with this set of players.
