I agree that he should be utilised more, but only for extra legs and to give Rodri / Bernardo a break, but overall I think he's pretty average. Maybe I'm unwittingly comparing him with Rodri and I'm being hugely unfair.
I know Spain are stacked but he's not young anymore, no international caps.

People were calling him mini Rodri in the run up to Christmas, I always wanted to give him a chance but even I was surprised how quickly he was adapting to that role. I don’t even think he is a 6 I think he is more of an 8.

Against Newcastle he was immense, I usually don’t notice the 6’s during a match but he was immense when we started controlling the ball and temp all thanks to him. And the scary thing is he’s 23/24. To lose him I personally think it would be a travesty, his ceiling is so high. Will he be as good as Rodri who knows probably not but if you can’t see his talent I don’t know what to say.
 
Been absolutely miles better than anyone in holding midfield this season and shouldn’t have lost his place to just convince a wantaway Rodri to sign a new deal.

I'm not saying he's not talented or doesn't have quality. Based on what I've seen, I just think some people are building him up into something he isn't. I don't see him as a difference maker, at the minute
Would he get into Arsenal's, Liverpool's, Chelsea's midfield?

Compared to how people build up Khusanov and Doku (I still rate them both btw) I think they are justified. Liverpool and Chelsea I think he get in very easily as well as United and Villa. That’s everyone bar City and Arsenal (Rodri & Rice) in the top 6.

Remember when we bought David Silva? Before that goal against Blackpool he really struggled to settle into England and get himself into the team. Everyone thought he was lightweight and the Northern weather just wasn’t for him, but believing in him made him turn into a PL hall of Fame’r.

Porto and Barca fans were banging on about him and his first 7 months I too didn’t see what the hype was about but when we played him for consecutive games at the start of this season giving him responsibility and letting him learn he went above and beyond and I’m convinced he has champion level quality.

Add to Rodri’s comments about his contract and he will see in the future that didn’t sound like someone that just wanted more money sounded like a player seriously thinking of going. And I don’t blame him, he’s probably pissed off he is getting ran into the ground when someone is right there to give him rest but Pep just wants to burn him and Bernardo into the ground. Especially worrying for Rodri who isn’t moving the same after the ACL. Won everything and probs wants a slower pace and go back to his home country. We would be stupid to sell Nico.

Who on the market do we replace Nico with anyway? NOR is an 8, Elliot Anderson (if we get him) is an 8. Short of Neves at PSG I can’t think of anyone of quality at a good age we can get to relearn that 6 in our system next season AND win major trophies

Not many of our current squad get in top level squads
 
Hopefully he starts on Sunday ahead of Reijnders. No need for City to be wide open when there's a trophy to be won. Make it as hard as possible for them to get through us so start Rodri and Nico G together.
 
I think perhaps we are not seeing Rodri and Nico together because we are playing the percentages. If Rodri goes down we need Nico so we are keeping him back because we are still testing out Rodri's fitness

City, realistically, can now only win the League Cup Final on Sunday, and potentially, the FA Cup.
If Pep doesn't play Rodri & Nico G on Sunday, he is running out of important games to do so ?
Give the pair a start together on Sunday...

Well our season is at serious risk of unravelling now so what the fuck have we got to lose?
 
What’s pep issue with him ? Him and Rodri as a double pivot is perfect for a team like us with Cherki in the 10 but no that makes fair too much sense.

Both would be too slow and undynamic. They both need seconds to turn. Only 1 or another. Anderson will most likely start next to Rodri next season .

Reckon Rodri will say he wants to be off and we sell him. More like Anderson/Nico G at this rate. But wouldn’t be surprised if we get into a scuffle with United for him in their current uptick in form AND he’s a guaranteed starter.
