Old Maine Road photos thread

More or less the sound ( and face ) of Maine Road inc the old supporters social club...used to see her in the club before and after every home game, then bump into her in the commercial office right before kick off( I used to raise money for the SC by selling those scratch cards ) and then of course Helens Bell rang loud and clear around Maine Road ...for decades

The last time I saw Helen alive was on the pre season (?) tour to The Isle of Man,she was being pushed in a wheelchair, spotted me and demanded I came over and give her a kiss !!
You didn't say no to Helen and I duly obliged.

She passed away not long after and City lost a true loyal supporter and fund raiser ,at a time the club didn't have a pot to piss in....not to mention the funds she raised for a big hospital in Manchester..

Used to see her every away game ,sat at the front of Coach A,she never missed a game home or away......A real Blue legend.

RIp Helen " The Bell" Turner.

100% this I've got nothing but great memories of Helen a true Mancunian who loved city, so many stories to tell but not in this thread probably deserves her own thread.

A relatively rare pic of Phil Boyer in a a City strip ...2nd photo shown.

League Cup Semi-Final 1st leg played at Maine Road in Manchester 14th January 1981. Liverpool won 0-1
