Pep to leave at the end of the season

Fair enough, he hit Twitter to monetise his "ITK" status and it clearly didn't work out.

Back on topic, Kompany or Alonso for me.
Not Enrique?

Nothing guarantees success, but I think he’s the closest thing to a guarantee.

I also think his brand of football, which is probably akin to our 100 points season style of possession based, but with quick wingers being more direct, is very well suited to the Premier League.

I don’t think Enrique would leave City with Pep’s records, but he’d leave us with winning multiple trophies.

If Pep leaves the Prem and Enrique comes in, he goes straight to number 1 as the best manager in the division too in my opinion. I wouldn’t be sure Kompany would be that right away.

Not against Enrique just prefer a younger manager who can build a legacy.

Maresca was the one who told Pep to invert Jon Stones into midfield, we all know what happened that season.

Many are underestimating Maresca here, the manager that outcoached both Luis Enrique and Hansi Flick despite having a much inferior squad to both Barca and PSG.
Is that first part genuinely correct? Not saying you’ve made it up mate, just I hadn’t come across that and I’ve been saying since that season that change of tactic won us the Treble.

He has won 3 X CL though. Not sure too many have. Although only one whilst in the PL.
Three is joint second which doesn't sound that bad
However, he's had, IMO and all credit to him, the best team in Europe for a good number of his years as a manager, so has hugely underachieved

Then you look at Zidane who won three on the bounce

He loves City and knows the club inside out. His missus loves city and is from Irlam. His kids were born in Manchester. He’d get paid more. He knows the owners and board would stand by him and not make any knee jerk decisions if he had a bad run. He’d have more money to spend. The PL is better than the Bundesliga

Apart from that I can’t think of anything else
What about the Beer and sausages ?

A pirate with 3 eye patches could see John stones had the right skill set to step in to midfield. Add to that peps penchant for both creating new roles and experimenting with player positions makes me doubt he would of needed marescas insight on this one.

With RM however

Why do some of you think it’s going to be difficult to convince a good manager?

We’re probably the most attractive proposition for any manager. 10 years without being sacked Pep has had. The most supportive board, the best internal set up to achieve success.

We have some brilliant players, we’re 2nd in the league, even after a massive rebuild, in a final for the 2nd year in a row despite said rebuild.

Kompany with his ties to the club and marital ties to the city would die to come back here.
Spot on

This Maresca chat with the “he had talks with city” yeah before Pep had signed his new contract! Do anyone expect Man City to not sound out anew managers when pep hasn’t decided to extend yet! Funny no one have said when those talks with us was! And that’s the reason I’d bet!

We know the media they want a narrative that Maresca had talks after pep signed his 2 year extension! Why? Because they can plant in people’s mind that this year is pep’s last! Seems an awful lot of fans have believed it too!

The beer and kebabs are miles better in Germany though to be fair.

Also, Enrique is leaving PSG so he'll actually be available. Same school of football like Pep just more modernized, fluid and direct.
