On Prime Bernardo in the state of football in 2021? Not likely

Currently? Physically capable of imposing himself on the opposition, so it would be like going from playing with 10 to 11 men. Bernie has got a lot of credit cheaply for some seasons now, "never stops running, experienced". He isnt in a state to actually make any of that matter anymore. Anderson wont give us what we think we would lose with Bernardo, but the reality is that we don't have it with him either
 
For someone who berated nunes as right back in many early starts I must say he really has improved a lot . Not sure he’s still the best we should aim for but would prefer him to what I’ve seen if that whinger porro !
 
Amazing what a win does lol.

Get another midfielder in as well as Gvardiol still to come back. The team will be looking stronger.
 
We still need a RB to rotate and rest Nunes.

Ideally a young, physically capable at around 20-21 with some experience, as Nunes is still the starter but needs rest.

Then Anderson for Silva is an easy one to do as well.

That's pretty much it unless the rumors of Rodri and Nico G are true about them potentially leaving, then we need to buy their replacements.

We need an Argentine. Just because of the history with Argentina players and city, would love us to try for Enzo Fernandez, watching that Cheslea team he's the only bright spark, seems to be annoyed with their ownership, in a better structure I think you'd be getting a close to world class midfielder.

So are you saying Anderson will run more than Bernardo or not ?

We could do with someone more imposing that Bernardo that could be most players but Anderson doesn’t seem like the sort of player that has the same style playing in the middle and out wide dribbling with the ball tight control good pass.

so far from Argentina who i find very interesting is Valentin Barco

has that Bernardo in him

can play multiple positions, creative, hard working

we have Claudi Echeverri, but he will need to go on loan
 
Reis has stepped up greatly so far

one more season on loan at Girona would be great and then we could slowly phase out Dias

Gvardiol, Guehi, Khusanov and Reis as 4 CBs sounds great

He will do more with his running, and gives us a much better chance of winnig midfield battles. He has very good passing. We have 3 players behind Haaland that should be given the licence to dribble while Anderson will service Rodri/Nico2x greatly by actually having the physicality to run a modern midfield and being brave on the ball actually feeding the front 4

* are players that I would ideally keep for next year but would also be OK letting go if they want out, if so they'd need replacing either with signings or academy players.

Bernardo is obviously leaving as is Stones, Ake will surely depart too. I've left off Marmoush because I'm pretty sure he'll want to leave, and we should get a decent enough offer to sell him. I think we have enough cover with Semenyo and Foden/Cherki as false 9 options to not sign a replacement, but if we did it should be either a kid with potential or an experienced number 9 who will be happy to sit on the bench every week for a couple of years. Reis and Echeverri to do one more year out on loan before coming back.
