The Squad planning thread

Interesting to see that Wharton has a higher % of ‘duels won’ than Anderson but Anderson has a higher % of ‘progressive passes’ than Wharton.

I’d have guessed it was the opposite.

Yet again proves Rodri is the freak of nature we know he is.

 
A new back up GK when Trafford leaves.

A RB to challenge and rotate with Nunes, looks like Kayode.

Stones gone, I think Ake sees out his last year especially with Josko coming back from a big injury. If Ake doesn't stay maybe Reis comes back but I hope he gets another year on loan.

Lewis may go his minutes dont give much hope - he's not a RB he's a midfielder and a great squad player to have.

Kovacic and Bernie gone in my opinion. Replaced by Nico OR and Anderson. This is where Lewis could also help I do really think he could be a good midfielder.

Players that may push for a move - Marmoush (but cant see it), Savinho (I hope so), Nico G (I hope not).

I think it will be Read or Wesley instead of Kayode now mate due to just how good Nunes has been? We need a young back up type who can learn rather than a starter.

Marmoush may go if Barcelona will come knocking, there were some rumours regarding that

that Rodri situation with Madrid is interesting - is he extending or are we selling him or he is going on a free ? Do we bring in a replacement this summer or we sign summer after

our position succession is not bad tho - in due time Reis will replace Dias, Mukasa will replace Reijnders, Mcaidoo - Savio

Bah is a hit and miss, maybe being sold to Girona and staying there long term may help him

Kayode is still only 21 and there’s plenty of games in a season. Nothin wrong with squad depth especially when players can play multiple positions.

Nunes definitely number 1, he’s been outstanding.

I think Nunes has really thrown a spanner in works regarding LB, maybe a younger more inexperienced player to come in and learn may be the way forward like Read? Reis back with Stones and Ake out leaves us strong at CB and Anderson in obviously. Still think that Savinho should go and one of Nusa or Diomande would be great.

Josh Acheampong is now available from Chelsea he wants to leave I think that changes things, City really liked him, 19 years old English right back with high potential.

Probably to do with attempts. I’d wager Anderson has attempted more duels than Wharton. Anderson has 14.9 duels contested per90 compared to Wharton’s 9.9.
 
If Stones and Bernardo leave at the end of this season, that means we will only have 1 player remaining from the 2018/19 first team squad.

Any guesses?
