Louis Theroux's 'Inside the Manosphere'.

What an interesting docu. LT has lost his anonymity which was his main strength in these type of exposés. Well, amongst the younger demographic as they know how to research before he gets to meet them.

I wouldn't say Theroux mullers anyone because he not just up against the person in front of him, but many times he's up against the followers as well.

With that said there's enough to see how brittle the foundation of the belief of the interviewees actually are as he probes simple questions at the logic of their positions.

Enjoyable watch overall.
I also watched this and thought it was enjoyable. My son is 19 and I've always worried about him getting caught up in one of those multi level marketing schemes. He thought it was funny I knew of people like Myron Gaines and admitted he only knows them because he watches videos of people making fun of them.

I think the danger is though that this documentary just helps us feel smug about having progressive views rather than addressing why the obvious absurdities (to me) are appealing to many. HS made me cringe so hard during the documentary but I did admire his honesty and he wound Piers Morgan up the other day which made me feel more warmth towards him. I'm an easy sell though

If anyone's looking for an easy watch I recommend Shrinking (apple TV).

The characters are all excellent and there's so much depth to it for a comedy. Almost every scene offers emotional depth, comedy and something outrageous which makes it work on so many levels.

One of the best series I've watched, which I think is quite an achievement for a comedy.

Yes, I think the state of today's "Red Pill/ Manosphere" is a wounded one. This is not how it started although today's version retains some factual understandings of the current state of "equality" today, so I have no problems with the retention of the original talking points.

But, unfortunately, that's been overshadowed by sensationalism and the weak/ hurt amongst the male demographic that shouts the loudest about their hate towards women and smart grifters have taken the opportunity to exploit them the same way women are exploited by feminism and 'Only Fans'... who are, in turn, exploited by the very same guys enriching themselves with the Incel culture of attaining the 'company' of women they don't have the confidence to engage with, ordinarily (I hope that makes sense!).

Basically, it's circular and the advent of 'Covid' has damaged Gen Z onwards, in ways we may never truly measure.

There IS a line through all of it, but it's not the same line for everyone. Personality and understanding are individual battles and dismissing the inner core of how you feel about the current state of where you stand in the world is not one to be dismissed, but one to navigate as we're not the same.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of HS. I think he's a tool, but even tools have their uses and watching Morgan get embarrassed (will he address it, is the question?) was a mini highlight for me as he's been a condescending PoS on many things.

And for those that don't know what we're talking about...

Just watched Gone on ITV. 6 episodes. Probably the best murder/detective series i have seen in years. Acting particularly from David Morrissey was outstanding. I won’t give any spoilers but strongly recommended if you like multi layers rather than obvious.
Thanks, I’ll give it a go.
