14 | Nico Gonzalez - 2025/26

Joke the way he’s been treated, our best football was with him at the base in midfield, all this to desperately keep a wantaway Rodri, flirting with Madrid.

Rodri doesn’t look the same player he was, we have his replacement ready and waiting and we’re willing to let him go.

We’ll struggle so much once Rodri leaves in a year to find anybody capable.

He looked pretty close on Sunday. He's getting back to where he was. However, Nico has been great and has so much potential. I find it crazy we spend so long trying to find a decent back up and then when we get a very good one we just stop playing him and flog Rodri again. Use the lad, he's more than good enough to play 30% of the games and give Rodri a break. Bring him on to shore up the mid if we're ahead.

Next team selection will be interesting. Nico has started our last two FA Cup games and in light of Rodris comments it would be easy to justify Nico starting. On the other hand its against Liverpool and we don't play for another 8 days after that so I don't see Pep not starting Rodri. But if he can't start Nico in an FA Cup game then when is he realistically getting another start before the end of the season?

no disrespect to the lad but I honestly don't see it in him, still think he's too fragile for a lad of his size, not saying he's a bad player but he is nowhere near the level we need at City, my opinion is he is a £60m panic buy and i'm not convinced Pep actually sanctioned it or wanted him, if Gundo was still here or Kovacic was fit then I doubt he would have had half the game time he actually has

What a load nonsense. We would be fighting for top 4 if he hadn’t pulled us through at certain points this season I absolutely do see it in him.

you are entitled to your opinion although I do remember him being on pitch as a starter at home to Spurs & Leverkusen when we never settled at all and coming on at Spurs his first contribution was losing the ball which led to the Spurs equaliser, granted it was probably coming at the time but I don't see Nico any better than a squad player at all

you’re only remembering what you want to mate

I don’t remember pep ever going from fawning over a player so much and playing him nonstop to just…nothing.

There were rumours he was willing to leave last summer. I wonder if Pep tried to convince him to stay but he made it known he still wanted out.

Might be a load of nonsense but there's got to be something that's gone on behind the scenes because the way his season has gone doesn't really make any sense.

Agree, wonder if he'll be good enough to get an International call up? Even in the first 50 names!

Nico had a great game when we thrashed them at the Etihad earlier in the season
