Superb, well done City, keep on pushing. A fairly even opening 30 gave way to domination, with good performances all over the park

Very much enjoyed Van Dijk playing completely and utterly terribly, directly at fault for 3
 
How you'd dream about playing vs Liverpool that. After an edgy first 25 we got hold of the game, remembered we are better than them & utterly bossed it all over the pitch.

That XI that started today is the strongest we can field and with Cherki playing like that, we can unlock any defence. If the big man wants to hit the rich vein of form he's due right about now, that'd be welcome. Also a shout out to James Trafford who's been fantastic for us this season - that Pen save put the exclamation point on another top display.

So thorough was that undressing of one of the Red cartel that you can set your watch by the press headlines in the next week:-

Monday - "City 115 verdict due any day - could be a 60pt deduction"

Tues - "Pep is leaving in the summer"

Weds - "Rodri is off to Madrid"

Thurs - "Haaland could leave for Barcelona"

My car mechanic said the same thing to me a week last Monday. That win in the League Cup could be the turning point, you never know.

It was the type of overall performance we enjoyed every week until the last couple of years that has become a bit of a rarity last season and this. If we can sustain this there’s no reason why we wouldn’t be favourites for a cup double and an outside chance of a domestic treble.

I hadn't thought about CL games and the impact. Odd really because it's something we've suffered with for years, will be new to Arsanal. Mind they likely won't be facing a Real Madrid type opponent like we've always had, so that is knackering before a semi. They'll probably be playing the Dog and Bone from Dubrovnic at home. Nb I agree with Big Erl that it is not acceptable that we are no longer in the CL. We need to be 1st or 2nd in that league phase next season and avoid Real Mardarses until the final.

I never trust the UEFA fuckers we’d top the champions league group stage with Madrid second and somehow they’d fiddle it for us to meet in the round of 16 ..
 
Fantastic performance from us and we got the scoreline we deserved.
Somewhat similar to last week it took us a good 20 mins to get going. After weathering their early storm, which didn't didn't produce a great deal of shots, we just stepped it up and took control.
Scoring two goals either side of half time did for them, they couldn't recover after that.
I really wanted the clean sheet and cheered the penalty save as loudly as the goals, well done Trafford.
