The Boxing thread

Perhaps I should watch boxing after an early kick off , tarquins losing and two much drink but I enjoyed that more than plenty I've seen before

Absorbing fight. Correct result I think.

Both of them left it all out there. Fair play them.

And both need to sail off into the sunset.

It was terrible, a so bad it was good kinda fight.

Wilder did look like he could of got Chisora out of there, but didnt (or just couldnt), bizarre that Chisora was helped back into the ring and nothing was made of it too.

Wilder was actually better than I thought he would be, but is still miles off it (hes 40 ffs), hes probably being lined up for Usyk

Price took some damage in Cardiff but judge's gave it 9:1 to her, not sure it was that big a margin but she's one hell of a warrior.
Yeah good fight.
Hats off to Price's opponent, wasn't over awed and was heavy handed but Price won the fight (big margin though).
Just hope Harper beats Dubois tomorrow now.

Enjoyed the Price fight because of the skill on view - fast, sharp, accurate and thoughtful in her approach, changing game-plan post injury.
Didn't enjoy the Chisora fight because of the lack of all the above.
I wish Derek good health for a long and happy retirement - he's a hard, hard man.

Seen this being called the fight of the year so just had a watch. Absolute shite. Both men are tough fuckers no doubt but very little sweet science on show there. A sloppy pissed up brawl.

I don't think the ref saw the hand on his back the first time, and the 2nd time it was deemed an illegal move as a push, but the point off was harsh after Chisora was ramming and pushing all fight.

I couldn't see how a Judge gave a fairly wide margin to Chisora. Wasn't the worst fight I have seen but needed Wilder to execute him in his "final" match. Sadly I see Chisora fighting on.

Hats off to both, one heck of an entertaining show and display of raw heart.

Though I was torn between the awe of this and laughing my tits off at how bad they both were sometimes at boxing.

Derek scrapped and brawled with everything he had.
Wilder - well, looking like if he had a decent trainer he’d be bloody dangerous. And I’m sure he does have one.

There just seems something not quite right with him (as a top top boxer) - apparently has had mental health struggles - to me, he seems far too nice - in the words of Mickey, ‘civilised’.

Another "big" UK show tomorrow.
Tottenham Stadium hosting another shitshow with past it Fury facing a massive Russian plank, detestable cheat Conor Benn facing yet another shadow of a fighter with a decent name and a lump of lard fighting a blown up Cruiserweight for British HW Championship.
Media trying to convince the public that tickets are in short supply yet in reality they're available for £15 and talk is they may move spectators around to make it seem like a full house ( but like United in early rounds Cup Ties).
Turki and Netflix are learning the hard way that there's only so much crap you can sell to gullible casual "fans".

I went to the Eubank Benn fight last April (night before our semi against Forest)

Got in easily and cheap for that, when it was advertised as a sell out, was a decent main event, but fucking boring (and cold) sat there for a few hours before hand, no idea why they think stadium fights are a good idea, as you cant see much, nevermind doing it in England in April

Is anybody going tonight? I am aiming to get there for 6 to grab drinks. Assuming it's a sensible time ad will catch the main card.
