Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

For a side 9 points clear in the league and still in the champions league their fanbase is pretty toxic.

A flip flop bunch the mad mental breakdowns this weekend watch it all change should they win midweek ...............i mean they may win it but my god it wont be down to a wank fan base that will turn on them despite them being in a great posistion.

Their problems are.
1. The Manchester City juggernaut they can see in their rear-view mirror.
2. The fact that they’ve bottled the League in each of the last three seasons.
3. They know that we traditionally have a strong end to the season
4. The way we completely dominated the League Cup final and destroyed their Quadruple dreams will have really fucked with the mentality of the head coach, the players and the supporters.
5. Lego head will have to select his best XI available in every game, until the end of the season, allowing little time for rest and recovery.

Oh I don't think it's impossible. Not at all. Strange things have happened. When we won the league in 1968 there had to be a curious combination of circumstances, and sure enough that combination came together. (I don't actually think that gaining the eight points on United in 2012 was all that weird — that rag team, overseen by its whipmaster in hell, was performing above its genuine level for much of the season. That's the way I view it, anyway, both retrospectively and at the time. We were the more balanced team, simply trying to respect the great City tradition of shooting ourselves in the foot).

But two things have to happen from here on in, and neither look likely to me. We have to be faultless. That means winning every single match, and no messing. And in one or two matches sticking in a good few goals without reply, so as to redress the balance in the goal difference stakes. That might be important.
But also, Arsenal would have to collapse. There are certainly signs that they're running out of steam. Their players are clearly tired. It's good that they're still in the CL. Good for us. I do not for one minute think they'll win it. But they'll exhaust themselves just that bit more, trying. Only one thing could have gone better last night: it going to extra time, then penalties, then Arsenal going out. But I don't really think Arsenal will collapse. I think they'll have just enough in the tank. I hope I'm wrong.
City keep doing this to me: reviving my hopes, just when I'd made my peace with not being title winners this season.
Yep, it's not about them, it's about us not being consistent enough. That's how I've felt for a good chunk of the season tbh. And last season with Liverpool. They're not that good, there's just no one of the level we've got used to over the past decade, including us.

I can't see us going on one of our incredible runs, so the question is whether Arsenal will have enough of a wobble that we can get across the line without needing one.

I only saw the highlights but was surprised by how poor their defence was for the goals they conceded. If you're going to drop your defence to defend the box you absolutely cannot let the ball go over your head like White did. For the second they just went full school kid and had about 8 players all sprinting towards the ball.

I'm happy to see this mini collapse but I doubt any Arsenal fan will be sad to miss out on the FA Cup if they win the league which I still think they will. I wouldn't be surprised if they get a win at the Etihad and I also don't think we are winning all the rest of ours. We had it in our hands at one point and Arsenal went and won their games whilst we gave points up. Our best two games this year have been in the cups so we still have patchy league form.

The Arsenal fans are delighted they’re not playing us at Wembley again. After all the shit they talked about us. I can’t take them serious.

I can guarantee we won’t. We signed Semenyo who used his long throw whilst at Bournemouth. Not once used here. Pep doesn’t like, in fact detests, 50/50 bullshit tactics, so not a chance of Mick McManus creating chances for Kendo Nagasaki next year.

Mick McManus and Kendo Nagasaki take me back

As it stands the tarquins should win the PL.
However if they do, it will be a travesty, because all season they have played anti football and would not be worthy winners.
Hopefully they'll drop the points necessary for City to prevail.
A slim chance I know, but taters' cowardly tactics could bite them, well, on the arse.....
bizarrely they have enough very good players to play decent football it’s their manager that’s the problem with his anti football tactics
The good thing is he will now never manage City

I think he killed any chance he might have had by going behind the back of Pep and the City hierarchy to talk to his current employers.

Big Daddy , Giant Haystacks , Adrian Street who looked like he was out of New York Dolls Brilliant times
The Royal Brothers; Bert and Vic Faulkner, Jackie Pallo, Les Kellett and many others.
Dont forget Count Bartelli and Catweasel.

The old biddies ringside, swingin their handbags and baying for blood...........hmm, rooney could have pulled there easily.
