Holidays

Cheers mate
It really is excellent for a city break. Fantastic history (was called the Paris of the East). Magnificent building and loads of them. On the Danube so very scenic, was comparable with the most important cities of Europe for a long time.
Buggered up by the Nazis and then the communists although the rot started in the First World War.
A bit Modernised/Americanised in a small central area, but mostly still not too changed. It was vibrant, we were served by loads of young people who I suspect a lot were students.
Everyone spoke excellent English. Would definitely go again, BUT.
Next time would use the public transport more, (we did 20000 steps a day for 4 days) plan our eating out better (lots of touristy places and fast food in the heart of the city). That way we’d see more, and get more local Hungarian food.
Any questions just ask, if can help I will.

Thanks Mate - we've booked it now, we did consider Phuket but we have been there before. Had some friends go to Ko Samui at Xmas and New Year and said it was really nice with the odd shower. Plus it was about £1000 cheaper.

Fair shout
What hotels have you booked?

Cool - let me know what it's like and how easy it is to get around to local restaurants etc. Hope you have a great time. We nearly booked the Sala Samui Cheongmon resort but got the Garrya for the same price. Felt like a no brainer.

Both are superb
We spent almost 4 months on Samui during covid and stayed in the Sala for a week or so
But garrya looks a cut above.. hopefully chongmon is within safe walking distance.

2 weeks booked for Japan in November

Honestly can't wait always been on the bucket list
I am currently sat in a hotel in Tokyo waiting to be taken to the airport for the long flight home via Helisinki. I have spent the last two weeks travelling around Japan, and I have never seen or been anywhere like it. To experience a society where 99.9% of its citizens all conform is something to savour. You’ll love it I guarantee.

Every person I have spoken to has not had a bad thing to say about the place.

Where would you recommend going for drinks etc? Did you manage to catch any City games over there?

Tui are getting a real pasting about package holidays to Cape Verde..

TUI are an international brand and that hotel is sold to customers in other countries. As far as I can find, there have been no other major reports of food poisoning there from other nationalities. Strange if that is the case.

Going to Seville with the missus on Thursday any suggestions?
Hopefully a poster on here will be along soon. Directed me to his own YouTube account where he had a great video of what to see and where to go. RobMCFC I think. Was a big help and we’ll be there in the next year or so.
