Elliot Anderson | Opening bid rejected (p189)

There's no guarantee of that. He may just not suit the English game. Maybe Alonso can get a tune out of him next season, cos no matter what, slot is gone at the end of this season.
The worrying thing for the scouse is he isn't showing an understanding of the game dynamic, neither is he (which is more concerning) producing moments of individual brilliance.
He's just a bog standard player right now.
We say one season is a settling in season for players coming from abroad, so he may come out of his shell next season. Its 50/50 right now on whether he's gonna come good or stay shite...
I think slot will stay because Liverpool never really sack managers after two seasons and he won the title last season so hopefully that keeps him going into next season .

The only way he could possibly cling on is if he gets a chumps spot. And it is still unlikely even if he achieves that.
But, after a squillion quid spent and a terrible title defense (with a Slot team this time, not a klopp team) I doubt the scouser owners will fall into the ten Bob mistake like raggies did.
He's toast!

Think it depends onwhether he was choosing the targets in the summer, for example was he behind spending a fortune on Isak and missing out on Guehi or was that forced on him, same with the Salah Van Dijk extensions. If he wasn't maybe that will save him.

The issue they have is he has 12 months left. If it’s all doom and gloom (even if the qualify for the CL) with their supporters then I don’t see how they can go into next season like that… and I doubt they would extend his contract. Winning the CL will probably only save him now.

It generally means something is shit.
Shit is quite a subjective term also. For example, on the match day thread City are shit and all our players are shite. Pep in particular is shitty shite.

Objectively all the above do not reflect the factual truth. So when Barca lose the CL final to Bayern for example, I won’t be considering anyone’s previous post that “I told you Barca were shite” as noteworthy proof of the poster’s intelligence or analytical prowess.

However I may consider the post itself as shitty shite.

Another factor worth considering is with a new manager will he want his own players. They'll have some money shifting Salah but not much. They've got to get this season's signings to work first imo

Thought Salah was going for free.

I'm not reading that shite.

Not convinced by this. Massive step down in quality imo, can perhaps say there is a lack of top quality midfielders right now though. I believe we have to go out and sign the very best midfielder available, regardless of cost, if we think he is that, fine, just as long as we aren't cheaping out.

Might make casper look world class ;)

I could be wrong but aren't his stats suggestive that he is the best defensive midfielder in the league?

We don’t have to do that until Rodri leaves. Respectfully, Bernardo has been past his prime for the last two years and yet we have a functioning midfield. We just need to get a midfielder with legs and another one with the brains to learn from Rodri.
