I'm sure Spurs were at home that day as I remember there being loads of them in the St Pancras wetherspoons. Saying that, maybe I'm getting mixed up with the Sheffield United game the following year.I don’t think there were any 3pm league fixtures on the day of the Liverpool semi though. It was Easter Saturday so most EFL teams played on Good Friday IIRC. So it could’ve actually been a 3pm kick-off. I know a lot of City and Liverpool fans campaigned for a decent kick-off time.
That's right, I remember the West Coast mainline being closed for preplanned works with it being Easter, so both sides campaigned to play the game up north originally.
