Players who might improve us

Mateta as a backup 9 anyone? Assuming Marmoush leaves.
I think if Marmoush does leave we should probably push through McAidoo and Mukasa as we did with O'Reilly. We'd save ourselves 50-60m, be able to try and develop these lads and they'd be willing to step in given the opportunity.

Always thought Mukasa had something about him whenever he played for us.

Anyone who finds themselves watching Conference League football this week, take a look at Shakhtar.

As they so often do they have a number of very talented young Brazilian players.

Most notable ones to watch out for:
Vinícius Tobías, 22, right back
Alisson Santana, 20, attacking midfielder
Isaque Silva, 19, attacking midfielder
Kauã Elias, 20, striker

Archive Gray puts more effort into every game, than the rest of the Spuds players combined......but he's nowhere near good enough for anyone outside the bottom 3 teams. None of the others (currently fit) are much better ;)
This is a player that i believe will be better than Rice, but despite everybody praising him, he is playing rubbish, that has to do with playing out of position every week, he is vastly better than Wharton, and the player we should have bought instead of Phillips, probably Nico G, but we needed Nico G desperatley. So if Rodri goes in the summer, i would go for Onana, and if Nico G goes through lack of game time, which will be very tight next season, Grey not needing as much may well be a very good buy.

I'd like that but they will have to take their opportunity. O Reilly stepped in during a cup match when Khusanov was taken off at half time when he was on a yellow.
Gvardiol was moved to centre half and O Reilly had a magnificent game. Never looked back.
That is the type of chance that McAidoo and Mukasa would need to take.

And again look at Bobb. Scored that goal against Newcastle but then had his injury. Clearly still impressed in training. He got good chances at the beginning at the season just didn’t take them.

I think Semenyo would be the back up 9 if Marmoush leaves and we’d go for a world class winger.
I agree in principle but how many world class wingers are out there right now?

Olise, Yamal, Vini Jr, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia...

I think the list ends there and I don't really see any of them as gettable.

Always liked the look of Angelo Stiller from Stuttgart. Seems to run games and is clever off the ball. Would suit our system down to the ground. I'm sure he is available for less than 35-40m this summer - alongside Anderson.
This kid is good

Sky are reporting that we are interested in Ibrahim Mazza

8 months younger than our Nico O’Reilly….Maza is showing a lot of potential.

Born in Berlin and represented Germany at youth level up to U20, then Algeria came in for him and convinced Maza to represent them at senior level where he now has a few caps.

Is playing his first season for Leverkusen after signing in summer from Hertha Berlin.

City showed interest last April in Maza as reported by Yahoo Canada.

Nigo G case is pretty weird one .He was pretty good ,when Rodri was out ,but gets no chance now. Pep sees nothing he doesn´t like or has Nico G made clear he wants to move on?

Pep has a habit of pigeon-holing some players. I think Marmoush and Nico G are both suffering from Pep seeing them as only Haaland and Rodri alternatives.

Remember Pep was convinced KDB couldn't play as a #8 and it was only Roberto Matinez putting him there for Belgium that lead to Pep changing his mind.

I’ve been saying this too. It would avoid the situation we have now with Marmoush, as Pep is clearly comfortable with playing Semenyo on either wing, so he’d essentially be a rotation winger and backup striker, versus what we have right now in Pep’s eyes which is just a backup striker and nothing else. The Haaland backup needs to be able to primarily play on the wing. We basically signed Marmoush’s replacement 6 months before Marmoush’s departure. And, in theory, Semenyo should be happier in that role than Jesus, Alvarez and Marmoush were/are, since he still gets plenty of minutes in his best position, without being shoehorned.
