Seat Counters 25/26

We are quite a big world wide club now.

We do have our fair share of glory seekers.

You’d think for a trip into London, catch a ‘Ciddy game’, experience Wembley, our foreign brothers and sisters would lap these types of game up and boost crowd numbers.
I was astonished in 2023 when we sold 31,500 for the Charity Shield, with an 1894 boycott request and a Sunday evening kick out, so the support is out there.
One issue is that Cityzens members nationwide and globally probally don't realise they could easily get semi-final tickets for all the family and thus book flights trains etc.
Lot's of "i'd love to go to a big City game" Members should be mopping these up? Judging from the ticket forum they seem to be very keen on getting tickets for Sunday's game v Arsenal, Son's birthday, just home from the USA, lifelong fan fulfilling a dream in seeing City.....there's actually a big opportunity in Wembley guys...as opposed to begging for next Sunday as your first game.

Any Wembley semi final against anyone other than Liverpol, United or Arsenal should be opened to member's almost immediately after very short ST pre-sale.

I do think that opening it up to anyone with a purchase history and letting then buy extras as well will give sales a significant lift - as long as they advertise it properly. I doubt there would be much chance of many - if any - Saints fans getting tickets in our end if they do that

They should put this in place this side of the weekend though. Leave it until next week and it will be too late for some fans to make plans

The club should ask why 2/3 of our season ticket holders cant be arsed going to Wembley.
Because many of them have been to their fair share of semi-finals and unless we were drawn against United, a lot of them tend to give it a swerve and do the final instead if we get there

Like it or not, fans do have a right to pick and choose what games they go to

Remember though, that Community Shield game was our first game after winning the treble, Sales in general were at an all time high that season.

Sales have been rubbish all season, with both the recent Madrid and Liverpool games only just selling out. The fact we're struggling to sell this Semi Final isn't a surprise at all.

I find watching on telly WAY more stressful than being there in person.

Going to Wembley is such a doddle now. We used to boycott the SFs as I agree they shouldn’t really be held there but I am really looking forward to this one.
Yeah, watching on TV is more stressful than being at the match.

Wembley is pretty straightforward for me as we moved from Cheshire to the Thames Valley in 1990, so it’s a lot easier than going to the Etihad and I pay to parking on someone’s driveway about 100 yds from The Green Man - I’m his best customer (parking, not GM, which I’ve only been to a handful of times). Do hate the ULEZ charge though!

Not sure I’d have made it to almost every Wembley visit (2 missed due to Covid regulations) if I still lived up North, but who knows: I’d have spent a hell of a lot less money travelling to the Etihad so…

I went to that Charity Shield and there were so many tourists, created zero atmosphere, but would still rather see the seats filled.

Tourists wanting to see the treble winners. Now 3 years have passed and without the same level of success on the field they've all fucked off.

I'm staggered the club didn’t anticipate this.

You don't half ask the club to do a lot, for the record i would say it's more like 80% who are not bothering, but then the criteria is a safety net for apathy. Liverpool reward fans who go to cup games on attendance not whether they are season ticket holders, rewarding effort.

It would be a interesting piece of data, which they could use to start asking questions of the people who make these garbage decisions.
I think you will find that you ask far more of the club than I do.

the club needs to ask itself why. we've got around 35k ST holders and over 100k members and we could still win a domestic treble?

Weren't you the once not happy with those of us that were saying these tickets should just be whacked on Open Sale to everyone from day one?

That includes me and everyone I know. I've been millions of times, it's not that attractive a a fixture, there are no trains back and I've just got back from a day at Wembley which probably cost me close to £1000 all in all.
And that is exactly the same scenario in our circle.
I have already posted that out of the 56 we took to the final only 18 are going to the semi.
Just out of our sample alone it was clear this was never going to sell out.
We could have offered everyone 6 tickets each and still wouldn't have sold the match out.
We do not have the fan base of Liverpool, Arsenal and those people from the piggery and we never will.
They were so fortunate to be the dominant teams at the time of football coming onto mainstream tv.
