Sad passing of a loyal blue Eccles Blue

Hi
I’m Shiela/Eccles granddaughter I just felt I had to comment and say the family are absolutely blown away by the amount of lovely and heartfelt messages on here about her.
She loved going to the football and clearly made so many wonderful friends and a real city family through it.
Thank you all for sharing your stories and words - it’s brought a smile to my face (along with a few tears) to see that other people thought as highly of her as we did x

@MichelleO

Such sad news. Your Grandma was a ray of sunshine on often cloudy days and her love of “Johnny Johnny Stones” was known, and appreciated, by all.

Sheila never had a bad word to say and her positivity was much needed relief on those occasional bad days.

Like most people on here, I didn’t know her personally, yet the warmth of her posts and her forum personality made it feel like I did.

May she rest in peace, knowing she was loved by her extended family here on Bluemoon.

Sadly I heard yesterday from a friend who goes on the bus from monton that Eccles Blue sadly passed away. Before her bad health started Sheila travelled home and away and liked to come on Bluemoon to support her beloved blues.

Sheila was a lovely likeable lady and will be sadly missed by all that knew her.

God bless She. True blue.
So sad. I loved reading her comments. Never a bad word, just true support for her blues, especially her John Boy. RIP fellow Blue, you will be sadly missed.

Really sad news.
She was a stalwart on here and I enjoyed her levelheaded comments.
I’ll miss her posts.

RIP Eccles Blue

Luved reading Eccles Blue posts which were devoid of offensive language and always respectful of others opinions no matter how misguided they might have seemed ;) .... if Johnny Stones only got 1 vote from the motm poll then you never had to wonder who cast it ... from a person I never met, she embodied the rare values of a previous generation that feel all too scarce in the modern world ... RIP Blue

Posted some thoughts earlier in the thread, then after reading the rest of the messages on the thread it made me think.
Did anyone else take extra care like I did when messaging Eccles Blue. Overall my spelling and grammar is pretty good I think, but I always had to double check, or even look stuff up, just in case.
Absolutely yes, always double checked and sanitised before posting. The way you'd write to The Queen, which in many ways she was. In fact, I found myself grimacing whenever I noticed anyone, who maybe wasn't aware of her standing, using words or language that she would not take kindly to. A gentle EB put down was enough for them to see the error of their ways.

One of a kind.
