She knew a good defender when she saw one. No doubt about that.
Ha - we need our kids to teach us what is right in life! Just kidding. Your gran was much respected and loved on this forum (as you can see from the length of this thread!) A true blue fan and clearly a wonderful family lady. I imagine she must have lived a truly fulfilling life and god rest her soul xxShe’ll be laughing her little blue socks off up there at me as a united fan having to join the city forum to read the messages haha. She was very happy when I told her my son had decided to be a city fan and loved sharing that with him :-)
Thanks for taking the time to come on here, in what is obviously a distressing period. I hope the posts on here show the esteem she was held in. She's at peace now. My condolences to you and all the family, along with her friends.Hi
I’m Shiela/Eccles granddaughter I just felt I had to comment and say the family are absolutely blown away by the amount of lovely and heartfelt messages on here about her.
She loved going to the football and clearly made so many wonderful friends and a real city family through it.
Thank you all for sharing your stories and words - it’s brought a smile to my face (along with a few tears) to see that other people thought as highly of her as we did x

We need a 'Bluemoon Garden of Remembrance' sub-forum where each member that has passed has their own thread and a squad number - similar to the player's sub-forum.
Yes Jim she certainly had a unique writing style!Hard to imagine this place without her. Just had a quick look, it's less than a fortnight since her last post.
Sleep well Sheila. I'm going to miss your Upper Case habit!
:-(
I could never get the better of her.Yes Jim she certainly had a unique writing style!
There was always very funny banter between the two of you, which often brought a smile to my face.
Sheila was the very essence of a true blue and will certainly be missed by all of us.
Hi Michelle, I never met your grandma but her passing is like I’ve lost a family member. I exchanged a lot of posts and direct messages with her and thought she was brilliant. My favourite poster on here by miles and she was always so positive and funny. Nobody messed with Eccles Blue on here and as I said in an earlier post whenever John Stones did something good I used to stand up and shout towards the Colin Bell stand “that one was for you Eccles”. It would be very poignant if Sheila’s John Boy got some minutes on Sunday.Hi
