I know what you mean but somebody says the same pretty much about all of our top players that leave. We'd end up with 20+ coaches if we did that!

Realistically, some are cut out for coaching and some are not, irrespective of their individual careers. I have no idea if Stones is or isn't.

For me he's as talented a CB there has been in English football in my lifetime. People outside of City will never really give him the credit he deserves cause of the injuries and i get that, but for me he is up there with the best. Its been a pleasure watching him, just wish we'd seen a bit more.

Haha, but you’re not far wrong. I think those mosaics should be enough now. Perhaps a row or two of them including the ones we already have statues for. On the lead up to the stadium perhaps?

Stones has been great. I feel bad for him that he has had so many injuries over the last few years which would have inevitably been the peak of his career.

I've seen many a performance when the players may as well have been statues. Like I Mel was a great exam0le.

John Stones is an absolute legend of this club. We all know injuries have been a nightmare throughout his time here but think about the two times Stones was fully fit and had a decent run in the team, on both those occasions we got to a champions league final and won a treble.

If it wasn’t for those injuries I truly believe we would be talking one of the all time great defenders. He had it all.

Will be sorely missed but unfortunately you could be the best player of all time but if you’re never on the pitch it doesn’t really matter. Good luck wherever he goes.

He's just on too much money and not playing enough games unfortunately, so the writing was always gonna be on the wall for him as far as any contract extension was concerned ..... in short, simply too much of a risk for the value we're getting, and sadly for him, and us, he can't really argue his case.

I can see him landing up in the lower leagues, if he lands up anywhere at all, or he might just call it a day on medical advice.

Has been a stalwart for the club , a bit like Vinnie he has had too many injuries , both would be considered the best Premier league centre backs ever but for this , and both gave everything for the shirt , not sure any club would risk giving Stones a big contract and why would he take a pay as you play deal ?
Wouldnt be surprised if he called it a day after the World Cup ,and its the only thing he hasnt won , unfortunately i dont see this England team winning it ,but we live in hope :)
