Arsenal (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Not long been back from the match and watching a recording of the match…..only up to the first 20 minutes and hadn’t noticed at the match….but surely that was a penalty by Gabriel….he leaned into the ball !

However where were all the replays of the incident ?

Neville’s reaction says it all, after the Arsenal goal…..‘this is what we want’.

He was absolutely desperate for an Arsenal win.
Bernardo did the same lean Vs Real. 100% penalty, and red card.

So we've been hearing all about how Rice and Gabriel are so good and nailed on for one of them to be player of the season. Well they've been well and truly ragdolled in the last two games with us

Bernardo Silva is a truly outstanding footballer. I've said it time and again - he came to us as a flighty winger/number 10 and he's adapted to become a proper gnarled midfield general.

And Nico O'Reilly is going to be the first City academy player to win balloon d'Or

??? Did you watch the same match? Hit post twice, Havertz missed a sitter and Donnarumma made a great save.
We hit the post twice too! Big hats!
Havertz missed because he’s shit.
Donnarumma made a horrible mistake but showed his class.
We scored more than you. You got what you deserved. Fuck all. Congratulations on your collapse. Looking forward to your total bottling.
PS can we play you every week?

If O'reilly aint the first name on the England team sheet at the WC then we have another loon who is content with overhyped shite

I had
In fact I'd written us off at Christmas

No nerves from me today. It was IMO a free hit as we have no right to be in a title race
Arsenal have fucked it up badly, again
Each to their own but I've backed us to win it all season. Why? Because I could see that they were as good as they could be and had peaked, while we were in transition and still getting used to playing with each other. I knew we would only get better while they wouldn't, or couldn't. That only meant one thing, that we would start to catch up. Whether it would be enough, well we've yet to see how it plays out but if you look at their last 9-10 matches and compare with ours, we've looked like winning them all while they've been edgily scraping through.

They might rally, but they haven't managed to so far. I'm backing them to drop at least 4 more points.

Finally made it home and feel drained! God only knows how Bernardo and O'Reilly feel.

It was a bit of an emotional roller coaster wasn't it? It would have been better for my nerves had we not faffed up so many of our chances earlier on. We rode our luck a bit at the end but then so did they. Cherki's goal was an absolute stunner, what a talent he is. The less said about their goal the better, thankfully it didn't have a bearing on the result. Haarland did well to react for his.

Gabriel should have seen red, he did nothing but foul Haarland all game, it was disgraceful. I can't believe he stayed on the pitch for that head butt, you could see it clear as day from the third tier Colin Bell. They constantly moaned all the way through, complaining about everything, they are awful.

Three very, very important points, tough points but God I am so pleased we beat them. Really need to make sure we don't slip up in any games from now on or all that hard work will go to waste.

Bernardo will be irreplaceable.
Haaland has got onto Gabriel's head. He was too concerned with trying to control him in a physical battle rather than through football. He was too obsessed with demonstrating to Arsenal fans that he had bossed him. Erl scored so demonstrating that Gabriel's efforts were totally wasted.
Throughout the game our big players all stepped up whereas the likes of Rice, Odegard and Havertz were found sadly lacking

Mate i will be honest i thought Arsenal would walk it ............just though Citys form was to ropey to get there and didnt think there would be hardly any pressure for them to bottle ............last week proved that this lot aint got it in them ............Bournemouth H chance to go 12 points clear and the entire club are nervous !!!!!
What they gonna be like now ?????

Ground out a win with no truly great performances. Big Erl looked a bit out of it, but when it mattered he was there.

Need to stick a few past Burnley, get the GD up, and then four more wins on the bounce to take the title.
Can’t agree with this. We beat a good team today, despite their recent collapse.
Cherki scored an all time worldy! Played brilliantly. Bernardo was outstanding. Khusanov was ridiculously good. Nico O really took the eye, he was sensational.
Haaland huffed a bit but won his personal battle and stood up really well, not to mention shrugging off Gabriel and bagging the winner.
Just my take maybe..

We had 59% possession, 15 to 9 shots, 5 to 3 on target. And Gabriel should have walked twice. That handball was pretty identical to Bernardo's against Madrid. We also hit the post twice and Haaland and Doku missed very presentable chances. Arsenal were very passive in the 2H until we scored - clearly playing for a draw despite Arteta's bellicose claims otherwise. Sorry mate, it was tight at the end but the better team won.
Numerous saves made by Arsenal defenders right in front of goal, plus we hit the post twice in the first ten minutes ...

Damn guys, I turned on Flashscore to see the result, I'm in tears. I turned off the screen in the 17th minute after Donnarumma's blunder. I was in a state of stress I've never experienced before. Thank you Cherki and especially thank you Big Erling.

Donnarumma, I would never forgive you if we had lost the title because of that.

Anyway, I'm going to watch the match to analyze our team's performance.

I love you, Cityyyyy
