Nothing against him personally, he seems a decent lad but he's just nowhere near as good as advertised and becomes invisible when he comes up against a proper midfield. You just can't do that against really good teams. It's been a problem for England too. They get past the teams they should but then fall short when they meet a good team and the midfield gets dominated.
Not singling out him as the entire reason, that would be extremely unfair but he's a prime example of the medias warped idea/narrative of what a "top player" is.

They cannot be pragmatic. This has forced Atrteta's hand and they have to go for it. They played better against us than they have for a long time but will they do this against lesser teams?
