Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

I was saying this earlier. The difference with Klopp's Liverpool is that they would've gone for the kill at 1-1. They might have died trying, but they wouldn't have settled.
They had a go for ten minutes and then came again when it was too late. Arteta was just two cautious again. I’m not sure they even know how to attack. No midfield at all, just hitting the ball wide looking for corners and free kicks. Arteta has ruined his own reputation and it’s too late to change. We gifted them a goal. They can’t create chances from open play.

Had Arsenal won last night, Sly Sports would be waxing lyrical about the 'advantage', and 'title decided', etc. and the fallout of the game.

As it stands this morning, barely a dickie-bird.

If, by the season's end, we do indeed lift the Prem, where would this put Lego? The money spent, the club's reputation is in absolute tatters - will this be the end for him, or do you think the board will say: "Listen, you peculiar little bit of mahogany. You've continuously fucked up, but we'll give you another bag of swag to buy more mediocre journeymen - but last chance and all that."

He has to go its as simple as that how many chances does he need ?????
I get coming 2nd to you lot but they should have done it last season with a bang average Liverpool team and this season with no real rivals apart a side in a massive transistion and it looks like he will fail again ...............all that money all that time to build something i mean even the odd cup during the last 5 or so years but fook all

Not sure that's true. It might have been the case that a few teams were off the pace last year, but Liverpool wrapped up the title with 4 games still to play, having lost once in their previous 30 league games. They dropped ten points once the title was won, but Arsenal would likely have needed 90+, to beat them if it was a closer title race.

Tough one.

He definitely improved them from when he took over.

From 2022-2024 I think they were very good and played good football, but they come up short. He changed his tactics since then, and while it's been effective, I don't think it's going to have any sustained success playing that way, even if they end up winning the league this season. But now it sort of looks like he's not really sure what he wants an Arteta team looks like and I don't believe it's a show of versatility, I think it's basically a case of "ok that's not worked, so we'll change direction" - I'm not sure that's the makings of a manager that's going to lead a team to years of success. Those kind of managers don't operate like that

So what do they do? Stick or twist?

Do you bring in someone with the risk of losing a manager who did improve you and got you back to being contenders and risk undoing that? Or still with a guy who hasn't been able to get you over the line if he fails against this season?

I think they'd have to really consider the latter and take the gamble on a new manager building on what they have.

If they approach all their games like yesterday then they've got a good chance of winning all their games. However, can they pull that off every game?
They need to play as many of their creative players as possible to have the best chance.

Their press, which was almost impenetrable earlier in the season, isn’t as intense and teams are beating it much more now.

My guess is that he’ll not play Eze and Odergaard together much and rely on one of them to create everything, limiting their potential to score goals.

This should a club by all accounts that wins things and for all the money his switching of tactics he really aint done fook all ............that was the narrative on talk shite that getting the CL semi final and losing out to City on GD is seen as improvement .............is that what there all about now ?????

So rather than put a picture of Micheal Thomas up these put one up of a City player .........odd
Arteta currently getting the video of Kompany's screamer, Gundogan against Villa, Agueo and Rodri at Inter to get the boys up for this one to show them that in football you can do anything if you work hard for it.

Feel exactly the same.

Think he’s hilarious but when he talks City I absolutely hate him.

Apparently when they were in Manchester for the live tour they referred to the audience as United fans and didn’t even mention City- like we didn’t exist.

Honestly he’s one of the most bitter Arsenal fans I’ve ever seen!

Without that equaliser, we would have won 3-0.
