Referees' Performances | 2025/26

I have read that both Oliver and Taylor have let it be known to the other refs that given their seniority that they don’t appreciate being called to the monitor. But even knowing that, surely the var yesterday should have said something like “Anthony (you cheating bald, rag prick), there’s definitely an aggressive head movement into the other players head and you really should have another look at it and see what you think”. Why the fuck that didn’t happen? Well we all know why

We need a list of his offences v City all significant game changing decisions
Feel free to add in replies

  • No red for headbutt on Erling
  • No pen for handball v Arsenal
  • Pen against Eddy v Arsenal, offence never seen given before or since
  • Red card for Rodri
  • No red card for Dalot's foul on Docku
  • Disallowing goal v Liverpool for foul in build up, against the way he had handled the game
  • Chelsea game SO of Sergio (correctly) but letting off the Chelsea players
  • No DOGSO given against John Terry, chasing his mind as he reached for his card
  • He also gave a pen against City for handball, the player had turned his back on the edge of the area?
  • ?
I have just come to accept Taylor is a crap ref and we just sing it's all about you. He caused the Maranakis outburst against Everton and he even managed to get Gibbs White sent off when he was 4th official against Brighton so other clubs do suffer. The only problem is that he is classed as the top ref so you have to suffer him doing your games more than others.

The slap in passing on the back of Cherki's head after he dribbled past him again. Should've already been on at least a yeelow well before the head swipe incident.

He got an agenda

Another weak performance in a City game. Didn`t start his 5 second countdown on the goalkeepers until late on targeting Donnaruma, in fact continually turned his back on Raya as if to ignore his timewasting whilst the game was level.
As a previous posted has stated since Mourinho gave him his roasting he`s bottled big games.

Taylor seems highly regarded in the refereeing establishment,I don’t know why,I think he is one of the worst refs on the circuit and that is saying something. Was it a couple of seasons ago that he took it upon himself to book about 18 players in a match which wasn’t even a physical game.We had the Delph sending off at Wigan back in 2018 I believe which cost us the tie,he booked him on half time the Wigan players started moaning,he put his yellow away and brought out the Red.Apparently someone commented that Arsenal haven’t had a Red card all season and Gabriel has only had three,it beggars belief. You often feel with him that when something happens he simply doesn’t know in himself what decision to make.

Is there a protocol in place for when a corner is given when a goal keeper goes over his time to release the ball. Or can the corner taker take as long as they want? If they go over time does the ball then revert to the GK?

According to Arsenal fans the ref yesterday was a Blue.

To be fair to refs they can't fucking win.

You can add ruling out Fodens goal v dippers couple seasons back because Haaland and VVD were grappling in the build up and Erl got the better of the twerker - even tho Alty saw it happen at the time and deemed it fair and told the players before KO he was going to allow some physicality.
