26 | Savinho - 2025/26

Savinho seems to be ahead of the other two in the picking order, if there is such a thing.
Not sure what Peps vision is but Grealish, McAtee and Bobb have all left since the start if the season.
I'm thinking the midfield planning is more important than the attack and defence for next season
Well there's been some talk of Tonali joining

Not being able to score to save his life just undoes everything else, its been a while now and its not getting better.
Our shooting in general was extremely poor last night.
Savinho powder puffed one , Ait Nouri sent one into orbit and Doku launched a similar one.
Even guys who regularly hit the target, Cherki, Haaland and O Reilly mishit so many shots.
Probably nerves or tiredness.

Thought he was OK - but that’s just relative to what he usually offers. At least he’s starting to attack his man and actually used his right foot for a cross yesterday.

Wish it wouldn’t take him so long to get a shot off, though. Makes Grealish look clinical.

Bless him, seems a nice enough lad, just not good enough for us or the PL. He'd suit Italy or back to Spain a lot more - only got to look at Antony.

I thought that Savinho's performance against Burnley was OK. Burnley packed the box and any shot, even if on target, was bound to be blocked. Savinho did about as well as Semenyo did against this packed defense.

That said, I do not rate Savinho and think that the best outcome for him and for our club is that he is sold in the summer window.

You're actually dying on that hill?
Neither of them are at our current required standard.
I could see Pep possibly improving Savinho but Reijnders is that bit older, dog and new tricks sort of thing.
Its pity that McAidoo is possibly too young as he might have been a possible addition next season.
I think our attack and defence may not see many changes but our midfield has many unknowns and looks like that is where the planning and transfers in and out will be prioritised.
I may be one of a few but Savinho coming on doesn't fill me with confidence but it doesn't distress me either.
An amicable parting of ways in the summer may satisfy every one.

I suppose we'd be OK without either but I'd still like to see TR get a second season...

As long as he works on the fundamentals for Pep he can get back in, because we primarily need his assets at RW more than Semenyo.

Is he stronger as a 1v1 dribble than Semenyo and needs to remember this is his strength. This is how he creates and has done for us in the past. Needs to start doing it again.

Semenyo is a better finisher, but the new wide winger role means less chances will come, and Savinho still sucks at it and desperately needs to work on it but its not his primary role, its first to create.

Semenyo has the better physicality to defend with the RB, in this case we just need Savinho to not be lazy and start tracking back more and helping.

The league may go down to whoever can score more goals, and if Savinho can help create better than Semenyo, we might need that more.

You make this assertion and then justify why Semenyo is currently more effective 1) more goals 2) greater physicality and defensive capability and 3) more assists. Currently he is superior in every aspect of the game, both statistically and with the evidence of our own eyes.

I didnt say Semenyo is better creatively.

The best of Savinho is a better creator than the best of Semenyo, thats what might be more necessary.

But yes Semenyo is better in those 2 other things and why he is being chosen.
