Southampton (N) | FAC | Post Match Thread

What has happened to that lad ? Tragic the way his career is ending , no desire , no hunger and looks like no feelings for the club , this has gone on too long and needs addressing at the end of the season.
Sat in a neutral pub in Philly today watching the match, got speaking with the guy next to me re: Boden. Never met him we both watched the same thing. WTF ?

Southampton were well drilled and solid defensively. We struggled to make inroads, and our fringe players where't sharp enough up front, which is understandable given the lack of competitive game time.

Got there in the end.

Foden did okay. Found space a few times and was ignored. Don't think he's a100% fit if I'm being honest. Probably needs a few weeks off in the summer rather than going to the World Cup.
He’s not shown anything deserving of an England place.

Exacty this. I've noted in the past that Marmoush and Reijnders need a few games to get up to speed, they're rarely at their best when they come in after not playing for a few weeks.

Not sure what it is with Phil but you don't just lose that talent.
The instinct is to jump on them and say they were poor, but I don’t think anyone we bring in can do that kind of job if they don’t get the game time to back it up. It’s hard, but we can’t really criticize any player that plays once every two months.

Good win against the bus parkers and if they play like that if they come up they will be relegated. Glad they didn't win it as they'd do the same in the final.

We dominated the game but couldn't get a shot in with 10 players defending. I do think sometimes we need to bang it first time rather than passing it around so much. Great to see Ake and Stones back as well as they offer a VAST amount of experience.

Doku changed the game for me, the lads an absolute nightmare to play against and ripped them a new one! I don't think there's any other winger in England like him. Great goal from Gonzalez and overall we deserved it. Incredible to think The Domestic Treble is on given how we've been this year!!

COME ON CITY!!!!

Some of them, maybe.

Anybody who seriously thinks that way isn't a City fan, never mind how they might protest.

Around November/December, seeing how we were defending and how Arsenal were relentlessly bludgeoning everybody before them, I didn't think that we had a chance of the title. I probably posted as much.

I'll be absolutely thrilled if we pull off the treble - I'll even put up with the taunts from the others who always said that we might (with no justification at all :-) ).

But yes, you may be right about some :-/
I never said "all of them"; I said quite a few. Which I stand over. You asked me if I seriously thought that every (your word) poster who had doubts would rather City lose than be proven wrong? So; please, don't accuse me of saying something that I clearly didn't say. If you don't believe, trace the exchange of posts back.

How can a young lad, who's not coming back from injury and not played every week NOT be 100 per cent fit??

He should absolutely be bang up for a semi final and should be giving his manager a conundrum to if he starts him in the next few games.

He's probably made Peps mind up for him after today - he wont feature much for the remainder of the season.

Long term injury or illness which the club are managing?
